I love to keep my bike wax'ed up, and nice and clean, after rides...BUT i have a thought... I always wax on, then use a rag to polish off...HOW POSSIBLE IS IT DURING WINTER STORAGE, to just put wax on all the chrome, and keep it waxed up without polishing off during the long storage winter months?? (just trying to keep rust off my chrome) How hard will it be to clean up after, leaving wax on for maybe 4 or 5 months??

Anybody try this method, and how did it work??

Ronnie

I ride 12 months of the year, so I know nothing about storage. However, I can tell you I put wax on a section of my car while it was parked in the garage, had to assist a neighbor, then had to take him to the hosiptal in his truck. I came home late and forgot about it for a couple of days. I had a very hard time getting it off.

Spray WD-40 on the chrome, wipe off any excess

If you do that you run the risk of trapping moisture under the wax, causing corrosion.

If it will sit that long, spray WD40 on a rag & wipe it over the chrome.

Then in the spring, wash it.

Hey, Frank, IT WAS WONDERFUL MEETING YOU YESTERDAY...... (I have to admit, that I rode away "thinking" what a nice guy, and had a smile on my face :):)) Thanks for introducing yourself to me, it was a wonderful surprise!!!

Thank you very much for this advise......I just sent away for some............(my problem is that I know that I have a large amount of wax build up on my bike) cause I give it a good wax job, quite often...When ever it rains , I usually just sit in my garage, with head phones on, Led Jepplin band blasting in my ear, "get a little mellow" and enjoy the day.....

Ronnie

What is this wax on wax off thing you talk about  I wash with awsome soap, removes everything, even wax buildup, back pack it dry, then just wipe with some detailing spray.

O' I'm talking about any car wax, I just wax the entire bike, and just let it dry, and then take a buffing rag, and wipe it down till it shines......I just love a nice clean shiny motorcycle!

Same here Ronnie, had a feeling I'd eventually run in to you at Scotty's, nice talking to you, your trike is beautiful it's obvious you take great care of it. Scotty's closes for the year in mid-late October so we'll meet again before then

Now "that's a plan"

Wow! I just read the instructions to use this product, sure sounds quite hard to use, especially with all the coats of wax I have on my bike, "almost" everytime it rains, I usually go out to garage and put my head phones on w/ Led Zepplin blasting away "get a bit mellow":xzqxz:;) and just give my bike a good wax job....I figure if I can't ride her, then I do the second best thing and just give her a good wax job, this surely, relaxes me.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa life is good, since R-E-T-I-R-E-M-E-N-T

Yep it truly was a very long road to being able to fully retire, but I'm loving every second of it, whenever I start to get bored, Into the garage I go :Angel:
