Hello folks! Long time triker and Trike Talk member but new to the Spyder world. We sold a Roadsmith Roadhawk with the automatic tranny and got a 2018 Spyder RT Limited. Gloria wanted something that she could ride herself (she never got the hang of shifting a motorcycle, the Roadhawk and her old Runabout were both auto trannys), we can both be comfortable on and will fit in the toyhauler. We both loved the look of the F3 Tour and F3 Limited (my favorite) and the front seat was good, but she found the pillion narrow, short, the backrest too curved, and generally uncomfortable. If it was to be mostly her ride we would have gotten the F3 Limited, but she will ride passenger at least 50% of the time, probably more, so comfort was the deciding factor. And the RT is a pretty nice on the eyes. Already doing a few mods - just installed a larger brake pedal, made a bracket for a Ram ball between the handlebars and another on the throttle housing, installed a cigarette type power outlet in the frunk and on the left panel by below the speakers, ordered a shorter antenna so the cover will fit better (using the half cover from the Goldwing. It fits like it was made for the Spyder. Also we have Sena 20S intercoms and connect our individual phones for music - haven't used the radio on the Goldwing since we got the Sena's so it's not an issue if the reception is a bit less) and we are going to Springfield MO, just 1.5 hour trip away, to a place called Lamonster's Garage to check out some aftermarket stuff. Will probably come home with highway pegs and brackets. Here's a picture, will post a better one when I get it in the official Spyder photo thread.

Oh, by the way, it has been named. She calls it "Itsy Bitsy".

Good to see the Spyder post, even though I ride a GW/RS and yes, the Spyder is easy on the eyes. So you now have the Road Smith, and the Spyder for the wife to drive? Keep us updated on the Spyder.

You all will love it. My wife has a 2016, and I tell you, if I’d ridden one first, I’d have bought one instead of the Triglide I have now!

Have fun riding!

Congratulations......They the Spyder came a long way from when i had one of the first one's [08]......I almost bought a new one when i dumped my Tri-Glide , But the Canam dealers wanted no part of my Tri in trade... Close but no Cigar....:D

Congrats on the new addition ... but I got a question .. how come most of the pics you see of spiders are from the rear ... don't get me wrong ... it's got a nice rear, but, it's almost like people don't want to show the two wheels in the front ... yes I know there are exceptions.

That's because it's so hard to get "in front" or ahead of a Spyder! Seriously, I had a 1900 V-twin conversion and it was fast, but my F3 will lay a patch of rubber and leave in a flash. My conversion was my Cadillac STS, my F3 is my Corvette.........

And you and I know the "real" reason why they don't show the front.........if I ever custom paint my Spyder, it will be JD green and yellow......and if they start laughing, I say, "want to race my tractor?"......

In the case of the picture in my post above, you can probably see there isn't room in the garage to get in front of the Spyder. I just pulled it in and parked i line with the rest of the bikes. (Out of the picture is a 1990 HD FLHS on the right side of the purple GL1800 trike). For the official "Exhibit Your Spyder" thread on this forum I plan on a full profile or a 3/4 front view.
