Took me a bit longer than anticipated to create a new post about the Stallion windshield situation.
As most of you know, MT has been "out of stock" on Stallion windshields for quite some time with no foreseeable resolution to the "issue". I have zero "skin" in this beyond but I know that there are those of you out there wanting/needing windshields & wanted to pass the information along.
An independent shop that is owned by a friend of mine in Indiana took on this windshield "project" (he owns a few Stallions himself).
He finally found a shop that had the tooling and ability to reproduce the windshields (took some time, he was turned down by several companies who weren't interested, couldn't do it, or pricing was out of this world). He finally found a vendor that agreed to produce them for him, and while the price is higher than any of us want to see (himself included), it was the only option for anywhere close to the price range. They are about $2,200 and are available in the regular clear or a tinted version.
Down side - they are not a "direct fit" for the fiberglass bodied units & would require the bottom of the windshield to be trimmed to fit the mounting that was used on the f-glass units. In short, you can take a plastic bodied windshield & modify to fit a fiberglass bodied unit, but can't do it the other way (which is why he had them made for the plastic body). If anyone has a fiberglass bodied Stallion & is needing a windshield but wants to know specifics on the modifications needed, you can call me and I will be happy to explain what has to be done (Richard @ Motor Trike)
If you want more information or are interested in ordering, please contact him directly as
these will not be carried or offered via Motor Trike/TBMS & are an "exclusive" that will only be offered through his shop. Bill is a stand up guy & I'll vouch for him as such (not that my word necessarily means a great deal
).
