With the relaunch of the 2019 Ford Ranger Pickup and the 2.3 Liter engine, are there any plans for new Stallion production?

There are zero plans to put the Stallion into production again.

While ford has put the Ranger back into production & it is a 2.3 engine, it is a completely different 2.3 than the previous motor (most obvious difference is the turbo on the new motor). Additionally the transmission, electronics, etc are completely different in the new Ranger.

I din't think it would be a direct replacement, but it isn't rocket surgery. Isn't that why engineers get the big bucks? Turbo would be good... and a different horn too. :)

I do think Stallion is 'done'. Those guys struggled for some time before the finally gave it up. I'd say they were under capitalized or the machine just quit selling, either way, same result.

I would think that a new EPA certification would be the killer.....

Epa is just the tip of the iceburg once you're past the complete redesign of the vehicle to accommodate the changes required... DOT certifications, compliance testing, then CARB compliance testing. And that doesn't even touch base with likely upcoming changes in requirements for new motorcycles. NTSB has officially "recommended" mandatory ABS systems in new motorcycles (announcement & articles released this quarter in regards to this).

It would require millions of dollars up front in order to bring the Stallion back into production and would also very likely carry an increase in purchase price along with it. Add to that, while there are several who truly love the Stallion & would like to see it come back the numbers simply aren't there to justify the sort of expense it would take to undergo such an enterprise. Especially in a world where model changes are commonplace every 12-24 months now instead of the every 5 or so years that was the "norm" when it originally went into production.

We have a 2013 Blue one with matching Colt trailer. But everywhere we go we are disappointed to tell everyone that they are no longer in production. Two week ago we went to the Good of the Land Festival in Lindale TX to meet a lot of You Tube creators and couldn't hardly get out of the parking lot for people taking pictures and asking questions.

Sure wish there weren't so many hurdles and hoops to jump through.

I have the same (problem). At gas stop, traffic lights, restaurants, parking lots, and even while riding people taking pics. Asking questions and wanting to know where to buy one. My response is you can buy one from me.... :wave4:

We can relate. Bought our Stallion in Delaware and drove it back to Texas (1701 miles). Every gas stop, food stop, bathroom break, EVERY STOP created a crowd. We learned to plan for 30-45 extra minutes each time. Then it was drivers taking pictures while trying to drive. Soon learned that the Stallion can be one of the more dangerous rides to have due to distracted drivers gawking.

We had the guys off the trash truck out here in the alley for 30-45 minutes walking around the carport when I left the cover off of it while I changed the battery last month. They all wanted to come back and go for a ride when I finished.

I still have to go back to Batteries Plus to prove that the 51R battery went in a motorcycle... Wish I'd made a bigger bet.....
