Has anyone put a 2 into 1 exhaust system on? I would like to run a D&D performance headers and was wanting to know if anyone had found one that would work.

The challenge is the exhaust exit at the rear tire location.

Many guys make two into ones for the M8. Here are a couple and you can see the challenge

Most of them could have a modified aft section fabricated that would get the exhaust gas dumping outboard of the tires... You just have to get creative and get a good fabricator to help if you can 't do it yourself...

I always thought this was kinda cool.... (yeah... I know it is not two into one... but it could be.... just sayin)

Freebird,

Thats what I was woundering which M8 based bike I should try? Road king maybe? I can modify the aft section like you said just want to get to the collector or 2-1 part.

Thanks,

Eric

Got it.

In that case I would start combing the internet and find the head pipes that travel the least distance aft and then talk fitment with the maker. Look at the Bad Dad ones above compared to the Covington Cycles one at the top. The Bad Dad collector starts right at the aft tranny cover bolts whereas the Covington one bolts on 3-4" past the aft tranny bolts. I know this is stating the obvious, but I don't know the specific brand differences. The other approach is have a set mad as a one off... more expensive, but then you know it fits

We just finished converting a 2007 Street Bob with a Frankenstein kit and modified a 2:1 Rinehart exhaust to work.

Khrome Werks has a muffler kit where it caps off the crossover pipe and has a muffler for that system. I think Drago’s has something like that also. You might want to check with them

Here is an interesting possibility from SuperTrapp. Looks like the old 78 Low Rider collector pipe system. (Naturally I love that) But.... It could be cut at the collector and give LOTS of room for a turnout that would clear the tires in the Freewheeler. Just another thought...

Of course the pic below may be better used as a blueprint... the mind boggling cost of 6 feet of pipe from a brand made exhaust might lead you back to a custom fabricated set of pipes as they may end up being cheaper... (support your local garage builder fab shop)

Funny thing is I was looking at those last night lol, The more I look at the Baddad set I am leaning toward them. I can always shorten the muffler section and tig it back since it has a heat sheild over that part you would never see it was done. Thanks for all the help guys!

Sure thing..... If you go that route, turn down tips may aide in simplifying the set-up. Just another thought

I was surfing around this morning and bumped into these from American Classic Motorcycle. More food for thought...

Yeah, I saw that the 2016 TC was the last model for them, but I would give them a call and tell them you are interested in an M8 version. Volunteer to be the first installation. I have had GREAT luck being the guinea pig for a number of folks like Klock Werks, and Paul Yaffe and others acting as the R&D trike for fitment of "stuff" on my FLRT... You have to have a LOT of patience waiting on things sometimes, but in the end it is worth it.

I found a set of the supertrapp bootlegger exhaust on ebay for $595 and couldnt past them up. I'll let you know how they fit once I get them next week and do the install.

Thanks,

Eric

2-1

I got the supertrapp headers started last night and it fit with no problems, all the mounting holes lined up. I'm going to set the fp3 tuner tonight for the 2-1 and then see how they sound. I snapped a couple pictures last night, I think I'm really going to like these.
