Please see what you think and pass it on if you agree with it.

We are hitting 129.9 pence a litre/$3.90 per gallon in some areas now and soon we will be faced with paying £1.50 per litre/£4.50 per gallon. Please read it and join in!

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we need to takeaggressive action to teach them that BUYERS - not sellers control the market place. With the price of petrol going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing their petrol! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. Here's the idea:

For the rest of this year DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two biggest oil companies (which now are one) i.e. ESSO and BP.

If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact we need to reach literally millions of Esso and BP petrol buyers. It's really simple to do!!

Now, don't wimp out on me at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to a lot of people. If all of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)....and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on. By the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it.....

THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Much Much more in the USA................

Again, all YOU have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all (and not buy at ESSO/BP). How long would all that take? If each of us sends this email out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!! Acting together we can make a difference. If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on.

PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES It's easy to make this happen.. Just forward this email, and buy your petrol at anywhere else. i.e. Boycott BP and Esso
:wtg::

We in the South don't have many BP stations around here (they know better), but when we travel, we avoid BP like the plague. We use cards at every other vendor, but never BP, and rarely if ever from Exxon, unless we're desperate for gas.

I do my best to avoid BP and Exxon/Mobil. The only times I use them are when I am playing "gas roulette". Then it seems like those are the only stations I find.
For those forgetting, back in the old days of the last century (the 1980's), Mobils, at least in my area, were found to be selling unleaded as leaded gas. Not good for my 1960 Chevy Impala or my 1971 H-D Sporster. I've avoided them like the plague they are since.

The price of gasoline is driven by the cost of oil, which is driven by demand vs supply. Simply swirching from one company to another does not accomplish anything at all (you did notice that all station charge virtually the same, didn't you)

Unfortunately, the only way that as a country we can drive down the price, is to use LESS gas.

As trikers, the best way we can do that is to ride the trike more and drive the car or truck less.

So if we buy our gas from the little guys we will hurt the big guys. With few exceptions the small discount gas stations buy their fuel on the open market. They can purchase the excess refinery out put from any of the large refineries at a discount/ competitive price. I have seen different fuel tank trucks from major brands delivering fuel to the off brand discount gas stations. The only way out of this so-called fuel crises is more production in non-muslim controlled countries like the ones where our men and women are shedding their AMERICAN blood for present and future enemies of USA. There is more oil in the north central USA and CANADA then in the Big Sand. And that is GOOD. Our present congress has a great big chance to open some of the closed domestic drilling areas in the USA if they have the balls to do it which I doubt they have anyway. Obama's closing of the Gulf of Mexico to drilling had a devastating effect of drilling in the gulf and the local economy as well. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR PROTEST and I will honor your request and only buy Tenneco and Murphy's gas where I can find their gas stations.

Back when I ran the gasoline stills in an oil refinery (Gulf Oil in Cincinnati), we could see all the major brand gasoline trucks coming into our bulk plant. Just because you're pulling into a BP or Esso gas station doesn't mean you're buying BP or Esso gasoline. They all buy from whichever refinery is the closest. Refineries have been doing this since WWII to save on transportation costs. Makes it difficult for consumers to fight back unfortunately.

Trying to use less gas sure helps, but oil companies have so many outlets it's hard to "hurt" them. Besides that, they know we in the U.S. are spoiled.

Common sence tells its a supply and demand issue. It’s like the TP shortage , the lass you wipe , the longer the roll lasts

Theoretically you're correct but then how well does that explain Enron or others who got caught playing their shell games?

Why would you want to hurt oil companies ? they pay great dividends on their stocks…

That was an idea from someone else's post, Bob. I loved my job in the refinery and have no ill feeling towards them even tho we all lost our jobs.

And, 87 oct is now over $5.00 gl in CA  :clapping: It's going to get interesting when all the folks driving big SUVs and full size pickups want to buy more fuel efficient cars and there aren't any because of the chip shortage.
