Harleys new fix for Milwaukee 8 oil migration?

Glad to see the MoCo has come out with something more substantial than a loose fitting "bandaid" for this ongoing issue!:clapping:

After reading the tech sheet, I'd bet a majority of owners will likely have their dealer install this kit as it has a degree of difficulty putting it above and beyond the average home tinkerer.

Assuming you'll be installing in your trike in the near future, let us know if this is truly the "cure"...

If and when mine needs this fix, I will most likely do it myself, even tho I have ESP

For some reason I thought you had the issue.

Is HD covering the install under warranty?

My understanding is only if an owner has already established a paper trail with a dealership

If a bike or trike has had no reported problems and manufacture warranty is over the owners would need extended warranty to be covered. This may change

My 103 pisses out oil from the air filter, and there is no cure yet !

They ALL spit some oil

Some more than others

Get a breather kit from D K Customs, it will help keep that crap out of your filter and engine

Frank i assume you tried this....With my 11 103 i stoped the pissing just by running the oil a half quart low....And for a air cleaner cover i used a cover from a medal popcorn container ....Drilled a hole in the middle of it painted it black threw a Harley decal on it and using the stock nut put it on....Probably put over 30k on that set up without any blow-by..

Interesting note on this fix, it is for 17 -19 touring models

So one can assume this does NOT affect the cable clutch Softail family of bikes?

This makes me go HMMMMMMM, the 1 big difference between models is the clutch acivation.

If as some HD techs are saying about the primary pulling a vacuum thus sucking tranny fluid, then why does this not happen with the cable clutch models?

Also what about pre 17 touring bikes with hydraulic clutches, are they stuck with this problem or can they buy the kit and install it them self? HMMMMMMMM

Pardon my ignorance on anything newer than the Evo years,Jack!: Would it install the same, or are the Softail's engine/primary/trans connections mechanically different?

The Softails are similar The Touring bikes have some notable differences however the the mechanics stay pretty much the same

The main notable change was the introduction of the hydraulic clutch

This seems to be the main game changer that I can see

I kind of wish The Evo platform still remained

They were damn good engines, I beat the snot out of 3 of them;)

I have not seen or read any Freewheeler trikes having the migration problem yet

Michael (MDO) and I have not had this problem, not to say it could not turn up later

Al tho mine was was rung out on a dyno @ 6k miles. It now has just shy of 20k and not a drop of transfer
