Yup...I'm new.....again!

Hello people! I live in Alaska, I'm a YOUNG 70 years old, and ride a 1958 Panhead and a 1940 Daytona Beach Racer made for the street. Been building motorcycles and riding them since I was 16 years old...I have a long history! Had a few dumb injuries this past winter so I bought a friend's servicar project, a Shovelhead front frame grafted to a '71 servicar rear half. Going to put a Shovelhead motor and transmission to it and pull an OEM raked front end off the garage wall for front end duty...

I've had ONE RIDE at the helm of an old servicar, and one on a sidecar unit...other than that...I've only ridden 2 wheels. Crazy am I? Not if I'm in good company here. :)

Expect I'm in for a whole lot of learning curve ahead of me. Hoping you all will fill in the knowledge gaps.

To begin with, give me your advice if you would and tell me to "go home, Sonny before it's too late"...OR....I'd love to hear from any old school servicar veterans! Only 40 miles from one end of the island here, to the other...so I'm looking for a slow to medium speed experience....and enough moving weight to not kill myself broad-siding a bear!!!

Looking forward to this. By the way.....any other Alaskan's here?

Jim in Alaska.

Hi James! Glad to have you onboard! I have seen another Alaskan post on TrikeTalk from time to time but can’t remember his details. Keep an eye out.

What I do is, every time I open up TrikeTalkk I hit the “New Posts” button and it displays all the postings that have been made since the last time I looked.... doesn’t matter which forum it was written in. That way I don’t miss any posts.

Quite a project you have for yourself - enjoy and good luck with it.

Welcome to the forum from Western Pennsylvania, I'm sure there are old service car veterans around here somewhere. Please keep us posted on your build very interesting to say the least. good luck with your build. Sounds like it's not your first time doing it your way... Ride safe Fred
