Our remaining children are grown, but I think parenting, or the lack thereof these days, has a lot to do with the problem. Raising the daughter was a real eye opener. Our house seemed to be the gathering place for her friends. I kind of wondered about that until the daughter wanted to go someplace one day and her girl friend didn't want to go. My daughter asked her 'why not" and the girl said 'because there's parents here that care where we are and what were doing'. There were others that simply wanted to move in. My boys will vouch for the fact that conditions could be somewhat strict. I named many of her friends as 'throw away kids' because it seemed their parents couldn't have cared less as long as they weren't too bothered. One woman called one day inquiring if her daughter was at our house. Turned out the girl had been here for two weeks(I had been working away from home) with the mom just assuming she was here?????? One of the more best lessons I learned is that while a parent can do a lot for their kids, the most valuable things parents can provide is their time and their attention.

Reality, being what it is these days, the concept of 'gun free places', anywhere, must be made illegal. They are merely targets of opportunity for nutcases. But, if anything, what will happen is for honest, law abiding citizens to be further hampered by new laws that will have absolutely no effect on future events of this sort.

I have often question why I too love this land. What's it come down to? I have literally been to almost every none communist country in the world (Nuclear Naval ships were not allowed in those) ... and there is not a single one I'd like to live ... maybe Australia if things really go south here, although I'm getting too old to learn a new language ... :Shrug:

She has just done a press conference.

In it she basically applauded the Democrat House's new bill eliminating concealed weapons nationally.

So apparently ... the shooter had his assault weapon in his pants ... I'm impressed. Both in the fact he could conceal it ... hmmm ... long gun with two circular 100 round mags, and secondly, in her understandingly what really happened in her city.

She also blamed Trump's rhetoric for creating this guy ... hmmm ... I just can't remember Trump calling for people to post "hit lists" and "rape lists". Me thinks this mayor is enjoying her 15 minutes of fame and her bully platform to spew her liberal BS. She probably would be better served looking at why her city didn't (gonna age myself again) "lay a dime on him", including his sister and what they think is her boyfriend that rode with him to the bar, I can't imagine they didn't have a clue. But, I guess his long gun and body armor where concealed ... :Shrug:

I give her three Pinocchio's (-5 sp?), guess that's better than saying "Liar Liar Pants on Fire".

There are no doubt good reasons for young people to commit these crimes, starting with video games would be my guess. But it's easiest for the left to just blame the guns rather than seek the real cause.

The one that bothered me the most was the girl at our house for two weeks with the mother assuming this was where she was. That kid could make a 90 year old dead man stand at attention in more ways than one

The guns are not the problem, the knives are not the problem, America has a mental health issue too many individuals need to be put in institutions and away from society. Society has no problem putting their aging parents in a nursing home when they can no longer take care of themselves, why are wackos running the streets who are a menace to society not locked up?
