New trike owner from Pahrump NV

Hello Jeannie

welcome to trike talk from east Texas. you are going to love a trike. first take a trike class, until you get uses to the wide back finders keep your front wheel in the middle of your lane, don't put your foot down, after trike class Practice, Practice.

Hi Jeannie! Welcome to TrikeTalk from the Texas hill country! Glad to have another lady driver on the forum!

Just take it out as often as you can - at your own pace - until you get used to it. Won’t take long at all. Your knee will appreciate a trike and it is so nice not to have to worry about tip-overs, particularly like in a slow turn in a parking lot or on gravel.

My only advice is: if you feel like the trike is trying to throw you off when in a curve, press down on the foot board with the opposite foot... ie...if in a left-hand curve, push down with the right foot.

Oh yes... be sure to use pressure on both handlebars when in a curve - one to pull the handlebar toward you in the curve and the other to push its handlebar away from you. If you don’t use both you might find it very tiring in the arms and shoulders when on a twisty road.

Most of alllllll.... HAVE FUN!!!!

Hi Jeannie, welcome to the forums from Florida. One thing to remember is it is a lot wider in the back end than your 2 wheelers, watch the islands when getting gas and anything else that sticks out, hope you have a lot of fun !!!
