JUST KNIVES

Well, the day got away from me yesterday but as promised here is one of the rescue projects that I've finished recently.

The before pictures are from the seller, the hardest part was the letters carved into the shield. Nice old knife with half stops and great bone handles

I'll try and get the other up later today

Lol, just noticed the flattened thumb nail...a hazzard of knife collecting

Thanks Doug!

Not quite as nice as the previous one, but it's not common to see many of these real old Imperial bone knives of this size around...this was definitely a user, and shows it! Minor pitting on the blades, I did a light cleaning but mostly left as found. The notching on the bone was interesting, I've noticed a few other old bone knives from past browsing that have a similar cut in them, but not 4 notches like on this one

As I wrap up my mini vacation here I wanted to share a few more pictures of some of my pick ups from Ebay.

Found this Old Timer hunting knife for 15 bucks, the condition was decent but needed cleaning and oiling to bring it back to life. Guessing that its early 80's ?

Made an offer for this old German made Lenox penknife with ebony scales and got it for $10, a little tlc and some oil is all it needed. After researching the history on this little guy, found out it's at least a 100 years old...they produced knives between 1909 and 1914 ... rare find :clapping:

Lastly the bag of knives score from my father in law, by far the Kershaw speedsafe and the old Schrade+ LB5 was the best of them. The two Gerber knives are china made, and it shows... but for a free knife I'm not going to pass it up

Randall, you are probably on the right track with the date of your Old Timer. Pic is of my Schrade Uncle Henry 124UH from 1985 when Schrade was still U.S.A. made. They only made this knife from 1985 - 1988.

Update: Looked it up... the Schrade Old Timer 25OT was made from 1964 - 1983...

That's a nice UH y'a got there Doug ThumbUp

I'd had heck trying to get correct information for that knife, where did you find the date range on the 250T?

Randall, good job on your Old Timer.

Doug ,that's a cool UH.

Good to find the American made ones. So many brands are made "off shore" now, if you know what I mean.

While we are on folding hunters, here is my Case 6265-SAB from 1972. Never sharpened. I had a hard time getting a good picture today. The best I could do. That's not a nick in the blade, just a light reflection.

Nice Case hunter, Bill! And thanks that Uncle Henry is one of my favorites!

Randall and Bill, looks like the 2 of you are still after the knives. I had a couple of things in the works, but my diesel truck took a little sick. Dropped 1000.00 and thought it was up and going, but the check engine light came back on, well back in the shop and the real problem showed up, 5,600.00, for the part and 1200.00 for the labor, well no knifes until the truck is back in operating order. Extended warranty does not cover emissions issues.

Sorry to hear that. You can do without a few more knives, but you pretty much need your truck to move your house. :(

Speaking of ...

I've been working so much I haven't had time to put a few pictures up. Here's a few new additions I picked up recently...I've also purchased a Case XX swayback that I'm really excited about, should be here later next week.

Below: Fox lock blade with etched bolsters , vintage Schrade Walden 808, and a Western Boulder Colorado 442. The two smaller ones needed minor cleaning and oiling, the Fox was like new (used) never carried

So what's better than 1 Fox knife???... 2 Fox knives :clapping:

This one is slightly bigger, I'm hoping that Bill might be able to tell me what wood this is...sure is purdy. I still haven't figured out what wood was used for the first one. I did find out that the etched bolster Fox is older by a little bit, based on the tang stamp.
