So, as most of you know, my little buddy has only one eye and is getting on in years. He has a hard time getting water from his bowl. I've tried shallow bowls with just about a half inch of water in them, a water bottle (he won't use it at all), food coloring in the water so he can "see" the level (that actually helped a lot) and several other things to help him not get his nose so deep so he ends up choking on the water.

Think I have found the solution. Got it on Amazon and Harley loves it. Holds a half gallon and has a pump that circulates the water constantly through a filter. I only have to top it off daily and clean it out weekly. The big advantage is that it's about at his shoulder level and he can get a drink while his nose is above the water. So far ... so good ... he hasn't choked on the water in the first week of it's use.

It's designed for puppies and cats, but, it's perfect for his size. Amazing what we'll do for our little friends.

Here is his current setup, I turned the lights off so you could see the lighting which I'm sure helps Harley, also you can see the water level gage. The thing is really quiet and the light and moving water helps him "see" it better, at least I think so. The "pans" under his food and water came from Dollar Tree.

‘’Splain Lucy..

Not understanding exactly where he sticks his head for water - just over the very top?

And how does it keep him from getting water up his nose if that’s the way it is?

Or... direct me to the website - maybe they have a graphic design to look at so I can see exactly how it operates.

Thank you for taking care of your little buddy!

I fenced off my whole back yard....Then put a dog door in so when i went away for a weekend and couldn't take my Border Collie with me he could come and go as he pleased at home, So my wife didn't have to let him out all the time... Out side i had an attachment on the water faucet that when he licked it water would come out....In the winter i used a headed bowl.... Funny thing with him when i would come back all his food was still there, And after he greeted me then he would eat...I sure miss that guy..:(.I would walk for miles with him in the woods...Never had him on a leash....Walked a mile to the lake and spent hours throwing a tennis ball in and him jumping in and retrieving it.....

The thing is about 7" tall. The pump pushes water up a tube to the top. It is dipped slightly in the middle to make a well. When the top is full, it runs down along the side of the clear top and into a white tray, through a filter and into the bottom. There the pump pushes it up again.
