Mesa, Arid-Zone-A
Planning on doing some touring this coming spring and summer. Hopefully health and the Chinese virus cooperate. I previously had a Spyder RTL with matching RT622 trailer. It was a joy to tour with as I had lots of room for stuff. There is an opportunity to acquire a very nice cargo trailer that matches my current California Sidecar GL1800 trike. Very tempting. So, I put together a packing list and pre fitted what I "need" for extended trips. Turns out everything will fit just fine in the trike. Trailer not needed. I was fantasizing about the "cool" look of having a matching bike and trailer. But I won't miss dragging a trailer along with the worry about it's security at motels. And, the expense of a trailer can be better allocated towards additional days on the road. Priorities..... Jim

I've been towing a trailer behind my bike(s) (since 2000) and never had anyone mess with my trailer......(although I don't just leave it anywhere, and I do lock up the trailer to a fixed object with chain and lock.................. [the trailer itself/cannot be locked]

Same dates and location as last year. Oatman is close to my home so keep in touch about dates you will be in the area.

Bill, please post your literary as we get closer to your trip. If the stars line up just right you may have another side kick for part of your ride..... Jim

Ok will do. Ed will not be going. He was to meet us in Tx,but a major Med issue has sidelined him. I can tell you we are leaving here June 3 to head to Zooks shop for a Rake install the 7th. Hope to leave there the 8th & head west. Lola will meet us in Early,Tx. So a while away.

Ed said he wanted to do a lot of riding in 2021. So I invited him to come to SA then ride to Conroe to help me supervise the rake install. ;)

I feel so bad that he is having health issues. He was hoping to go to rehab yesterday but he has to stay a night or two longer in the hospital.

^^^^^ and this is how a 'topic' takes off at 90 degrees. :)

To reply toward a little more related, I almost always take my trailer with me. Long rides, short rides.

You never know what your path will cross, Flea market, garage sale, resale shop or ???

Nice to have room to carry home all these things that you might not been able to otherwise.

No need to buy a trailer for just yourself Jim, way to expensive. We have plenty of room for the 2 of us. If you find something ya can't live without, just ship it home. We will let ya know whenever we get close to you. I guess it depends on how much you want to do. I will try to enlarge the section that has the destinations on it.

2021-02-04.jpgI can't get the itinerary to expand. But from NM we head for north rim of GC. by way of Million $ Highway ,Monument Valley then back to Flag & over to Oatman & back East on rt 66. Will let you know approx dates as time gets closer. I plan on going to Zook's & have him do the Rake kit on the 7th of June. We should be able to start from there on the 8th. Ed is doing better & plans to hookup I think he said Cortez. If your are Gold I will PM you my cell. Hope you can get the pic larger to see the route.

Thanks Bill. I am really looking forward to seeing and riding with you and Janiene again. Sorry to see that you will miss Kerrville. I am going to do my best to be there. It will be a first for me in that part of the country...... Jim
