Early Travelers To Sturgis?

The campground we are in closes their office from 4pm to 8am the next morning. It is a park district owned facility (Illinois). Last night after dark 2 Harley's snuck in and stayed in a site, leaving prior to the office opening (PA plates). A ratty looking Class C RV came in also to another site and snuck out around 6:30 without paying (CA plates).

I just wondered if all these folks are heading our to Sturgis?

Buddy/I did that once on a trip but we happened to talk to the Ranger and he said

It is probably accepted behavior in some places. However in the middle section of the country it is still a misdemeanor theft, just like shoplifting is still a crime.
