Why would you not get another Road Smith? Going to kit a 2021 Gold Wing. Considering Road Smith or CSC. I really like the rear lighting on the CSC. Other than that don't know why to choose one over the other. In reading the reason people like the Road Smith or the CSC there sure are a lot more Road Smith owners. I now have a 2007 Wing with Champion solid axel don't hate it but don't like it very much.

Roger, welcome to Trike Talk! You would probably be happy with either one. They both have independent suspension. I would suggest riding each and making up your mind from there.

We like our CSC trike... the company treats their customers right!

I chose between the two according to the dealers/service near me. CSC didn't have much support near me. Went with Road Smith. I live very close to their headquarters. Had them install the kit. They run a good company and are very helpful

I Liked both brands, but Road smith has off the shelve parts you can buy anywhere if needed. That's a plus. And they've been in business a very long time. All the bugs have been eliminated

Couldn't be happier with my decision

Roger, welcome from San Antonio, Texas. I agree that riding each would help you with your decision.

welcome will you be using the same installer for whichever one you choose? installer are one of the first considerations

I'd put some paint protection film next to your bra. Darn road sand/pebbles will find the unprotected paint

Having ridden a RoadSmith for a number of years, think I would at least give the CSC a good trial ride. I really like the body features over the RoadSmith. As some have mentioned, try and get a recommendation on the installer whichever you choose. One of my dislikes on the RS was the suspension. I tried everything in adjusting and could not get it to my satisfaction; maybe it was the nature of the beast, or maybe it was just me, I expected more from the suspension. That's why I say, ride both brands over a bumpy road and get a feel for the ride.

CSC

We have a CSC Cobra kit on our 2010 Goldwing.

We rode others and liked the CSC so that is what we looked for.

I believe CSC has a 5 year warranty on theirs too with unlimited mileage.

Why do you think having to buy brake pads /maintenance parts from CSC is a Plus? What happens if they go out of business??

My two cents worth:

Pros: With the CSC conversion you find that most/many of their replaceable maintenance parts are CSC specific, i.e. brake pads etc.

Cons: With the CSC conversion you find that you will be unable to simply pick up (for example) brake pads from Auto Zone/O'Reillys etc and will instead have to order those parts from CSC.

Now for another one cents worth:

All of the trike conversions are nice so styling and available installers will play a big part in the selection. I chose Motor Trike because they offered noticeably more trunk space than the other choices I had. I've had Hannigan also (very nice), and I have friends family with CSC and Champion.

Road Smith

I road them all and liked the Road Smith the best. Took my bike to the factory in White Bear Lake and had the kit installed in one day. The wife and I made a long weekend of it. We left home on a Sunday and dropped off the bike on Monday and picked it back up onTuesday. I was very pleased with the service we received. Road Smith got us a discount on the hotel room that was just down the road from the factory.

My 2017 is my second Roadsmith. Never road a CSC. Getting a test ride in Massachusetts is nearly impossible. I bought this one from Alabama. The ride is fantastic with the longer wheel base. My only complaint is the trunk leaks on both models.

Roadsmith Impressions

I can't comment from experience on the CSC as I have not ridden one. However, the Roadsmith is 2' longer than my 2015 Harley TriGlide, and the ride is much better with the longer wheelbase.

The only negative is the tail lights on the Roadsmith. They are the least appealing of the four major companies I looked at. Hannigan and Motor Trike appear to use the stock lights from the 2018+ Goldwing, while CSC has a custom set that appears similar to the stock 2018+ lights. All of them are LED with run/turn/brake capability.

Roadsmith uses an aftermarket set of chrome & red trunk lights from ShowChrome that are designed to fit the 2000-2017 Goldwing top trunk as a replacement for the all-red OEM lenses. They use two incandescent bulbs, and look dated compared to the more modern LED fixtures used by the other manufacturers. Roadsmith is working an updated tail light option, but it hasn't become available yet. Personally, I changed them out for some all-red lenses I found on ebay and they look a lot better, especially with the optional Kuryakyn red bumper lights that came from Roadsmith.

Now 5,000 miles in the 3 months I've had the Goldwing and no complaints with Roadsmith quality and ride.

I have a Roadsmith (three seasons) and sooooooooooooooooooooooo far sooooooooooooooooooooooo goood

yes I'd get another one for sure..........
