Planning a trip to Mackinac island

Thinking of going to Mackinac Island later this month. What other sites would you recommend to see out that way? We try to stay away from any big cities.

i'm in Marquette, you riding or bringing toyhauler? By the way ain't to many big cities up here. Soo locks and Pictured Rocks are a couple of sights to checkout

If you take the Google Maps northern route to the Upper Peninsula there are a couple of places in SW Wisconsin that might interest you:

This is a really good BBQ restaurant in that area: https://www.bobsbitchinbbq.com/

When my wife and I take our road trips we check out Diner, Drive-ins, and Dives restaurants along the way. Been to about 60 of them around the country and haven't been disappointed. Some can get a little pricey but the food is unique and tasty. https://www.flavortownusa.com/

When we went to Mackinaw Island we stayed in Mackinaw City at the Super8 Bridgeview. The rooms were nice and the balconies on the Bridge side have a nice view. A good place to relax and enjoy an adult beverage at the end of a lot of walking.

Enjoy your trip!

well you might as well head for Maggie Valley after that 9/5 or 6 for 3-4 days of riding. two of us from Dayton,O going down.

Took the new to us camper for the first time Tue and Wen nite. WE feel we can stay in for a while in texas , these winter. We do have a spot spoke for at Skyline Ranch. We hope to get out and try another test run before then. We are still trying to make plans for the end of aug.

Oh wow! This is cool news!!

John and Jan from Michigan hole up at Skyline but they wait til after the New Year.

Please keep us informed out here as to ETA… will be happy to see you two again!

We have a lot of other roads to ride here other than the Kerrville April Ride roads you took. We have fun exploring and even if the road is a dead-end it can be interesting along the way. Just the other day we were on a lesser explored road and caught a glimpse of some giraffes through the trees… nowhere to be seen by the general public. Also caught a picture of a young white buffalo on the same road. On open range areas we have encountered a couple of llamas… you never know what we’ll find…. There is also a giant yellow pencil…yes…pencil …pointing toward a private road….don’t ask me how I know about that..:xzqxz:

Oh… and the full size stagecoach with galloping horses…. Yup… we have fun watching for stuff..:)

You can try out the camper at Maggie Valley too.

Jan & John

We will be there Jan15 thru Mar 1 I think she said in the 80s.

Ya we don't get there until the 15t. Jan wants to spend a month at the beach (Port Aransas). But Paws and Double Trouble are close by so they can show you around.

See you in February

Ever ride has it adventures . Sunday outside of Rhinelander, my trike receiver broke. I didn’t hear a thing, wife said do you hear something. Tie trailer to a post and headed for parts. Oreallys was open,43 dollars later up and running. Wiring got scrapped up a little blew a fuse. Back to oreallys to get some fuses. Lost about a hour and half.

Met seniorsgt on Monday . Had a very good ride and nice visit. H58 road was great. Saw Tahquemenon falls. Tuesday went to Mackinaw Island, and walked way to much. Headed home tomorrow at a slow pace, two or three days. Did get a vibration this morning, at about 65 mph. Trailer tire belt broke , so two new tires for the way home
