Probably going to sound like a smart donkey, but if the drum brakes are working well, why change to disk? Just curious.

Better stopping power, less moving parts comes to mind

Disc brakes are more efficient giving more contact surface compared to shoes

Look at the wear pattern on brake shoes, now compare the pad wear with discs, you will see equal clamping force applied = better braking, less wear

Your point about the disc brakes is well taken. I was just thinking that servicars normally had about a 45-50 mph top end and wondered about the practicality of the brake swap in that case.

I am currently building a servi "facsimile" using a DNA trike kit and a late model replica servi box. Definitely using the disc setup that comes with the trike kit. I say "facsimile because I am using an EVO big twin.

Best of luck with your build

If I was to build another bike it would for sure be an Evo powered one

There are ( I like to call them recipes ) for dependable big inch Evo engines out there

I rode the hell out of 3 Evos and never had any engine problems
