Getting Excited About My CSC

Well folks - I understand I am a little over a month away from my CSC build. If I got it right, the kit was scheduled to be painted on 2/11/22.

My guess is - from there, it will be all put together, packaged and then shipped to my trike builder.

I have learned quite a few things from the comments on this site. Also had an opportunity to talk with Randy at Cut N Shoot Customs in Texas. He is not my builder (I am in Michigan) however, he took the time to talk me through a few things. I had some questions about a trike he built - and want all to know that I both appreciate his expertise and time.

My bike is a 2021 Harley Ultra - Gauntlet Grey -blacked-out. The new Harleys don't come with a fender light - however, I saw on that he did that included the light. So, we are now adding a light to ours. The Harley dealer is ordering the light (smoked grey) and also getting the trim and the light harness. They will power coat the trim. Also putting the black fender guard on the bottom of the front fender.

While doing all of that, they will also add XM radio to my bike. So, for now, we are just closing our eyes and waiting.

Thanks everyone for your help and pictures

It certainly does feel like Christmas.

Went to the Harley dealership yesterday -spend a little money. Got all the things I mentioned in my earlier post.

Fortunately, everything is available - so, once the trike is done, I can get all of this handled.

I have noticed that several folks here have mentioned that from time to time, they take their trike to Arlington for a checkup. That's about a 700-mile trip for me - and I might be interested in doing this.

So, my question - is this usually done while the trike is under the 5-year warranty? Also, is there a charge. Finally, is this something that is done one-off or, at a specific time of the year?

BTY, my trike builder has already told me to stop in there at least once a year so he can check the trike. Also said if something happens while on the road, try to call him first so he can make arrangements to get things handled. Interesting - haven't gotten the trike yet and already getting ton of offers to help "just in case"

Just heard from my installer - looks like trike kit is being painted. So, he said it should here in Michigan sometime soon.

I just said thanks - but you might imagine that i had tons of questions, like how soon, when did they start. Are you sure they got the paint right?

But instead, i bit my lip - wow, am I ready

Beautiful - and, the trike kit is going to add a lot to this.

Also, and I am sure you know this - you will have a lot of take off parts and the classified section is good for those. I already sold the few things I have taken off - like the crash bar bags. Others here have asked about the shocks and other things.

Your front fender in like mine. In earlier years, there was a light there. That has been removed. So, I ordered a light and trim. Trim only comes in chrome, so I had it power coated.

Hopefully, will be able to send you a few pictures in a couple of weeks

Looking forward to seeing the pics. I'll transfer some things to my other bike but will have a few things to sell (like the Super Shox). I replaced the fork reflectors with Custom Dynamics lights so I think I'm good with lights on the front.

Gary got tied up fixing a different trike - think he said it was about 10 years old. He is delivering that back to the customer in Sterling Heights on Saturday - and, will pick my bike up then.

He asked me to take the saddle ads off - no need for him to take them with him. So, bags are off, trunk empty, back rest off - and, I am ready

Well, my bike is gone. Gary picked it up around 2 PM or so today.

Before he left, I took the saddlebags off and the backrest. Also, I cleaned the trunk - took all of the thing I had in the trunk top out.

Now, all we have to do is wait for the trike kit to arrive - he is not certain if it has been shipped yet. The last time he talked to CSC they told him it was painted, the harness installed and getting ready for shipment.

Routinely, it takes about 4 days to get this done - however, since they have my bike, they can start to take it apart now and get ready to attach the kit. So, maybe that 4 days is now down to 2 days. All is OK - not yet riding season here in Michigan.

Ordered

Ordered our CSC Encore kit for our 18 Goldwing Tour DCT this past week.

They said the earliest more than likely is first part of September and could be October.

It is what it is and being we have our 2010 Goldwing CSC Cobra XL Trike with only 15,000 miles on it, we won't be in any rush, I hope.

Will be selling our 2010 when our 18 gets Triked. Will definitely hate to see it go.

Wow, 6 months lead time - I placed my order on the 1st of November and was told March 11th.

As I mentioned, they have picked up my bike - but I have not received confirmation that the kit has shipped. Last I heard was, everything was done and the kit was painted. They were still waiting for the wiring harness.

Installer told me that CSC said they have 5 on the way and the first one was for my kit.

I just got home from NC - sent my installer a note letting him know I was back. While I did not ask, I was sort of hoping he would let me know if he heard anything. If he does not write back, I will contact him early next week.

OK - I talked to my installer today. The harness arrived and has been installed. Kit is being buffed out and prepared for shipping.

Gary said he expects to have it here in Michigan by the end of next week. They already have my bike and have started to take it apart. Given that, it sounds like the middle of April.

I might think there could be some transport delays - so, I'll just bite my cheeks a little longer. The main thing was making sure they got that harness.
