Hello all,

I have a 120th anniversary 2023 Harley-Davidson Tri Glide on order.

I would like to know if anybody has used the trike mid step as shown here http://www.trikemidstep.com/# with the Legend Suspensions air shocks kit?

I am a little concerned that the trike mid step might interfere with where the air compressor needs to be installed?

Richard, welcome to Trike Talk 👍👍..

Get ahold of the mid step people, they may be able to tell you one or the other. Personally I would go with DK's pro action shocks and then no need to worry about the mid step, I don't know anything about the Legend air ride but do know most on here have the DK's system and very happy with it.

All for now Trampas

Totally agree with this. The DK shocks and Mid Step work well on my 2017.

Hi all,

I just received an email reply from Legend Suspensions which you can all read here:

"We actually still don't quite have our official 2023 fitments out as we are working with our local dealer to confirm our suspensions fit on new models. It is highly likely our Trike stuff that fits 2022 models will fit the 2023's, but we can't officially recommend it at this time. We are hoping to have official 2023 fitments out by the end of the month.

I just walked out to the shop floor and compared pictures of that "mid step" to where the compressor is mounted on the trike we have in. It looks like they are going to be occupying pretty much the exact same space, so I am going to go ahead and recommend you don't try the air kit combined with a midstep. You might just be able to get away with mounting the step first as it just looks like it bolts on, and then mounting the hook-clamps of our compressor after, but I can't say for sure that would be possible and it would be a tough call to pull the trigger on a spendy air kit without 100% certainty you could make it work.

We did just come out with a couple of new 13.6" trike shocks. These combine all of the engineering from our coil shocks with an extended length so Trike lift kits are no longer necessary. This might be a good option to run by your customer. We don't have those up on our website yet as we are still sending everyone to Drag, but that kit Part Number is 1310-2312"

Glad you got an answer and it doesn't look good anyway. By the way stock shocks on a triglide are 13 inch, air shock or coil over, they say they have a 13.6 trike shock and a lift kit isn't necessary, bull crap, all trikes need the lift if you want to raise the rear so mufflers don't drag in low situations like driveways, etc etc. Check out DK's web site, you will find all kinds of info there or stay with the stock setup you will have will the 20-23 comes in, your choice. The best I did to my 2018 trike was the lift kit from DK

My 2020 Tri Glide came with 14 " shocks :xzqxz:

Not to argue with you, if you bought that 2020 tri glide used it might have the 14 inch shocks from the previous owner, if you bought it new then it has the 13 inch shocks

NOT To argue I bought mine new and it had 14" shocks I Replaced them with 14" shocks from DK When I got rid of the POS I put the stock 14" shocks back on it :xzqxz:

I bought a new 2020 TG in July of 2020. I have in my possession Dk Nex-gen 13 inch shocks. I order 13 inch becasue that what was said to come OEM on the 2020 TG. I have not attempted to install them yet. Now I'm all worried, son of a gun! I guess I'll find out when I go to install them in a couple weeks when the weather warms up. One of 2 peope is wrong here! This totally stirs my pot of confustion.

Since they haven't been installed, see if you can return and get the 14" with the lift kit. Be far better ride. You always call DK and talk with them, Great people to work with.

What's your thought on why the 14 inch Nex-gen shock would be a far better ride than the 13 inch nex-gen shock? They both have 4 inches of travel.

just gives you more height in the rear. If want to keep the 13" go ahead, I was just making a suggestion. Than ride it like you stole it!
