Given routine maintenance and riding it as it was designed, i.e., not doing burn outs or wheelies and such, just normal around the area and freeway riding on long trips what would ya'll think would be the life expectancy of the M8 motor? This is without adding cams or other motor mods. Mine, specifically is the 2021 114ci M8 in a Freewheeler.

For trade in value…. For some reason historically anything over 50,000 miles on a Harley Davidson motor will drop the trade in value….. that said, I don’t think hundred thousand miles unreasonable but then how many people actually keep their bikes that long before upgrading to a newer better model.. or upgrading with cams and such?

I would like to see 100,000 miles, but given the heat factor of the M8 I am betting on 50K before top end rebuild

Had my '78 Shovelhead for just shy of 100,000 miles. Generally, if I get something I like I keep it.

Not saying that it won’t last past 50K just that over 50,000 miles it’s a psychological barrier for quite a few people who want to buy used Harley My 2011, 103 triglide was approaching 48, 49,000 miles and I was looking at a 2017 107.. So instead of finding out if it was true or not, And I was going to buy new triglide soon anyway, Might as well make the trade …

Trade

I just bought the bullet, traded in my 2010 (orig owner) trike on a 2023 anniversary edition (273 of 1100). It was sad to see my trusty stead go (112,503 miles), many good trips and of coarse mucho dollars spent!

Tuesday is the 1,000 mi service and I orderd the Stage 2 parts today. Hope to get some photos out soon.

The M8 seems GREAT!
