So then converting.....Wow....that all depends on how it is built. As most VW trikes are homebuilt with some purchasable parts.

IF it was built using the whole VW tunnel you could put the VW parts back on it

If it is a custom frame then you will have to design/engineer/manufacture your own set up.

What makrs you want to get away from the hyro set up?
 
If you go back to cable operated clutch, don't forget to install the rubber hose with the little hump in it as in the original VW chassis setup. The friction on the clutch cable provided by the "hump" keeps the clutch from chattering and grabbing.
