Gun Owners

Re: Guns?

Mattel, I've looked at the Charger and didn't think I'd shoot one that much but not you have me thinking otherwise.
The $300.00 price tag has slowed me down a tad also.
Just now getting some decent weather to shoot 22's around here. We start shooting the BR50 in April and I'm ready for that.
Maybe the new will be worn off the trike by then and I can devote some more time to the 22's. LOL

Okie,
When they came out last spring they were $215 at my local shop. Now SBR's are in high demand. Try Guntrader.com if you get serious, I think they are still in the mid 200's. The new 50rd mags make it fun to plink, just watch the dirt fly until you tag your target. One box one mag is nice too. For about cents a round you cannot go wrong.

Tmigla, don't be silly, you take the trike to the range!

Rough Waters ahead!

Hate to be the deliverer of bad news. I just received this e-mail yesterday from a buddy of mine up north. As far as how factual it is I can't say but it definitely is the same story we've heard before. And now with the Dems in FULL control,,, well,,, watch out! :(

Re: Guns?

Re: Guns?

I am new here. I go by Don Pam that is me and my wife. We both ride, she has a kowie 750 Vulcan I ride a 800 Suzuki intruder. But I am going to build a trike.

Guns we both open carry, I got us both a matching pair of Ruger p95's nine mm, for Valentines Day, untill then she carried a S&W 38, and I carried unknown 25. We both love to shoot and go to the range as often as we can.We live in Arizona and this is an open carry State, we also have a ccw here to but I belive that we do not need to carry that way. I belive that I have stoped trouble just because I have my gun in plain sight. I have talked to a lot of the Police here and have not had a single one that has any thing bad to say about being armed, as a fact, they to a man said that they whished that all who can would.

Re: Guns?

Hi Don (and) Pam. Welcome to TrikeTalk! We will all want to follow along as you build your trike, so be sure to post lots of pictures along the way :).

Re: Guns?

I don't know which one would be the best weapon to use! But I am better at hitting the target with bullets than with throwing the pen, so I guess I'll stick to the 22.

Well, I'm sure a p22 is nice, but you can order a glock in yellow (to go with your trike) or pink if you like. :)

I'm in Virginia and it's also an open carry state but I've never seen anyone carrying. I also have a concealed carry permit but have to admit that I never carry either.

You comment about the Arizona Police being in full support for civilian's to carry is very refreshing. Wish that was the common consensus in every state! I happen to know the Chief of Police in my area. The next time I see him, I'll ask what his point of view is. Just for curiosity.

Re: Guns?

Not much into guns, but I do have a Winchester Model 94 I bought in '68 I use for hunting. I also have a Colt .38 Chief Special (Snub Nose) I bought at the same time that has never had a round in it. In fact it is still in the original box and wrapping. In addition I have a Glock 19 still unfired since I bought in late '88. Again in original container. I am looking for a Kel-Tec 32 to carry around, although my nephew (Cop and Gun Dealer) says that the 380 is the one he uses as his back-up while on duty.

Re: Guns?

How long do you wait before shooting a new gun?

C got me a Glock 23. Really nice... but I haven't shot it yet and it's been a few weeks now. Shooting in our backyard is legal here but I haven't had the itch yet.

One of my buds is a Federal Training Officer, said the first thing he would do is make the rookies cut all the pull cords off of their jacket that would be near the Glock and to keep your finger away from that trigger or you will have a nice neat little hole in your uniform pants after you get out of the hospital.

I've got him coming over to train me to field dress the G23 (it's my first Glock). I'm a firm believer that if you don't know the gun, don't shoot it. Maybe that's the reason I haven't played with it just yet... hearing some of the stories and all...but the fun to be had once the training is over will be just great!!

 UNBELIEVABLE, Obama's $50 gun tax/registration thru 2009 1040 tax filing

Obama has gotten this Senate bill into the finance committee
Senate Bill SB-2009- will require us to put on our 2009 1040 federal tax form all guns that you have or own. may require fingerprinting and a tax of $50 per gun,

This was put in an amendment to the Internal Revenue Act of 1986,this means the Finance committee can pass this without the senate voting on it:no:

This is the first I have heard of this legislation; and have been unable thus far to find any further information on it. Please give us a citation for the text and an update on it's status. Is it still in the Senate Finance committee? Is there a similar Bill in the House? Thanks.
