Jessica and I are alive ands well in Fort Collins.
Weather was awesome, roads were dry ... now comes the hard part ... waiting 16 hours :AGGHH:.
I stopped to look at the HD Dealer in Fredrick ... ya know ... just incase there might be something I couldn't live without. Alas .. almost every thing I wanted ... I had at home .. The sales manager saw me and came running out to say hey. High Country Harley is the place I bring a bike to do "big jobs" ... he actually remembered me. Haven't brought a bike there since like 2007 ... he was the assistant then. We yakked a bit, and I asked for a quote for a set of the Bat Wing Apes, 12", installed (not sure I want to tackle that ... too much "hunched over time" ... the windshield adjustment job kicked my b$tt, actually, my back. He said for me, about $800 ... that is with the wires inside the bars. Pretty good. He put me in the system as a quote, and said if I decide to do it, call him, he'll get the parts. I could ride over on a Friday, drop it off, pick it up Saturday, be home Sunday or Saturday if I wanted. He said he'd get me their corporate rate at a hotel about a mile away, pet friendly. He'd drive Harley and me to the hotel and pick us up. The hotel has several "walk up" restaurants that would work for Harley. He also said he could get me a corporate rate on rental car if I wanted it.
I'm thinking this might be my first Harley accompanied trip. Three hundred miles each way, with a nice area to roam around on Saturday. There is a lake/park about 200 yards from the Hotel. I stayed in this hotel when they did the 103 w/cams and Dyno on my 2007 ultra. There's lots to do with in walking distance. I dropped it off on Saturday early afternoon, rode home on Monday about 1pm. Their service and parts/clothes are open on Sunday, just can't buy a bike ... Blue Laws. They ask for volunteers for "big jobs". Since they have like 3 sets of mechanics, someone is always off and willing to make extra cash. The guy that did the 103 w/cams, Started around 2pm Saturday and finished before he left Sunday. The Dyno tech did his thing first thing Monday morning, 9am, they called me about 11:30, picked me up about noon. Between test ride, paperwork and paying, got on the road around 1pm. I got home around 7pm, but it was summer so, It was light until 9ish.
I don't remember if I mentioned the hotel I'm staying at is a "suites" or not, or that is right across the street from "Fuzzy Taco's". You know I had to try that. My Suite has a California King in the bedroom (not sure what that is, just what the paperwork says) with a 48" TV, a living room with a 44" TV, a kitchen with Coffee Pot, Microwave, refrigerator and a mini bar ... not gonna touch that bad boy .. LOL.
So I got here and turned the TV to watch the end of the Players. I parked right outside my window, literally looking at "Fuzzy Tacos".
After the golf, I went to dinner at Fuzzy Tacos (gotta love the name). Had a baja taco plate, two fish tacos, rice and beans. The tacos had feta cheese in them, really good. If you're into alcohol, they have a beerita. Basically they make a Margarita and put a beer of your choice bottle and all, upside down into it and it "mixes". Not my thing, but, there were lots of them on tables.
Anyway ... I am bidding my time until 8:30 in the morning. Any bets I'll be sitting there around 8:00 with Jessica off the trailer ... LOL.
