07 Venture / Hannigan Trike options questions.

Adding in some more info regarding the "power and fuel economy" of the Venture.
The original final gearing on the Venture 2 wheels system is 3.03 to 1 while Hannigan's Ford axles are 3.73 to 1. It's a lot better for the bike to have the lower gearing as it'll put the motor into the power band a lot better. Yes fuel mileage suffers some but then the trike isn't a pig anymore either. With the trike 3.73 gearing the engine will be turning about 500 rpms more at 70 mph than it did before the conversion. I generally get consistent 30-32 mpg 2 up if staying under 70/72 mph. and have gotten as much as 35 staying at 55/60 mph on country roads. But have also gotten as bad as mid 20's pulling a fully load trailer in the mountains.
Having said all that having the ability to carry extra fuel is really nice as you can stop worrying if you'll make it to the next service center or gas station when traveling.

Did I ever tell you guys how much I LOVE my AUX tank? clapping

Also , I am not sure I ever told you guys how much I am LOVING
the reverse , always did fine with out it. but WOW life is
kinda different now with it. :Coffee:

I could care less what the fuel mileage is anymore. just go and ride
a RSV Triked by Hannigan and you will for sure forget about that little tid bit .

Well, I went ahead and ordered the kit this afternoon and paid half down. I think the only option I didn't order was the aud fuel tank. - I plan to have Cougar build me one. The dealer said he would be fine installing it.

You better have Carbon-One build you one !! My welding skills are not that good yet LOL... anyways you will love it and it IS A MUST !! with his set up the fill cap is on the left side , better for when you fill up.
Congrats and you will be so happy you made this move ThumbUp

I have never ridden a GL trike so I have no power comparison basis, but I don't find the RSV trike to be a "pig" We almost always have the trailer loaded heavy when on a trip, you do need to take off a bit slower than when not pulling, but still plenty of power. If I wanted a go fast bike I'd have triked a V-Max. Mountain grade riding is not a problem, just drop a gear. With Larry's aux tank we've never come close to being out of fuel.
I have ridden a GL1800 2 wheeler and it's fast but I also find it uncomfortable after a while in the saddle.
You made a good choice that you'll be happy with.

Congrats Craigr! Jay, Yes, a V-Max trike pulling a trailer would fit the bill.
