2019 vs 2020

I have a 20 tri. Had both updates done Monday. One was for traction control, the other was for some cloud app for the entertainment center. To the op, as others mentioned, hd cheaped out on some things, plus the center vent on the fairing doesn’t close anymore, and they added RDRS. Go to their website to read about it, but the hill control is optional, not std, not that you need it on a trike. Good luck.

ive head the radio is better in 2020 than 2019? touch screen is better, nav is better? System is cleaner and easier

is that true?

Not that I know of. Had a 19 Ultra Limited before I went back to a trike. There was a big change from 18 to 19 though. That might be what you heard of.

Radio is the same for both '18 and '19. I just replaced my Boom! system on my '15 with the new radio (using the Soundz adapter) and it works the nutz. Very happy with the new features, especially CarPlay with my iPhone.

Found this one:

Well thats not good, unexpected change of direction.

Nope, not good at all!

I have experienced this on a small scale on my 2019. At the time I shared it I mentioned that I thought HD would need to change their algorithms to keep it from surprising a rider.

Sounds like they did make a change...in the wrong direction!

I first mentioned this problem in this thread, post # 62

Hopefully the recall will get it fixed completely...it is quite a surprise the first time it happens.

Regarding differences between the '19 and the '20. The video above outlines most of them. Of course, color changes.

In the video Matt says he does not think the vent button is important. Well, if you ride in the rain much, it can make a big difference.

I personally leave mine open all the time to reduce head buffeting, Except when it is raining hard, I do close it, otherwise it shoots a significant amount of water straight at my face. I would not want one that I could not close the vent on.

HD has come up with a new acronym for 2020, but the features are the same for the Tri-Glide in 2020 as 2019.

There's a full explanation/breakdown of the RDRS features on the HD website, that can be seen here-

https://www.harley-davidson.com/us/en/content/reflex-defensive-rider-systems.html

Regarding the "Advanced Braking", all 4 of the features on the 2020 are also standard on the 2019

Regarding the "Traction Control Systems" this was also standard on the 2019's

Regarding the "Drag Torque Slip Control" this was also standard on the 2019's

So they have a new acronym, but no different features than standard on the 2019 Trikes.

Oh, and there was a price drop in 2020.

If riding in the rain is not on the agenda, and if 2020 colors are appealing, then the future value of a 2020 is more than a 2019, otherwise, not much difference.
