I had it done on my 15 Tri ... hardly noticeable, warranted for life, had one section replaced when a rock scratched the film. Paint was fine and the replacement was free.
I've also put it under my luggage rack where the monkey tail was scratching the paint. Did this on the 15 tri and now the 14 limited.
Local guy, his shop is called Prestige Auto Trim. I use him for window tinting too. He's done this one many bikes and cars/trucks for me. My current 14 Toyota Tacoma, he tinted the windows in the front to match the rears. Not the windshield, the side windows. Keeps the truck way cooler and you can't tell it's film. I've done the match the rear window thing on every vehicle I've owned since like 99, and that's been a few (Alan likes new to him toys).
I've done so much business with him, when I bought the 08 Gold Wing with the champion kit, the left fender had a chip in the film about the size of a quarter. I brought it to him to see if he could replace it and match the right side. He did a great job and said 3m warranted it, so no charge. I gave him $20 as a tip, guys been great to me.
Thanks, good tip, I did a Google search and came up with zip unless I wanted to go to Tampa some other crazy place. I'll do a search of auto trip shops here in Lakeland, that sounds like a good option.
Paint Protector film now installed. Cost $350 plus tax for front nose, mirrors, front and rear fenders. Maybe I should have done the air intake body work too but that would have been more money too. Love how it protects and still shows the paint color. I'd recommend it to anyone who interested in protecting your paint from road debris and bugs.
