New to the Honda trike, very pleased with my change from a H D trike.

However, I am unable to get the necessary volume into my helmet, I used the direct connection on the HD instead of the Bluetooth and had plenty of volume.

I have a Sena Bluetooth head set, try to run it through Apple Play from my iPhone, just not loud enough.

What am I doing wrong?

I don't know about I phone(I can't imagine this part is different) but if your phone volume isn't up high the sena won't be either.Kinda like it'll only boost it so much and the lower it starts out the sooner its boost runs out.Turn the Sena on and get everything going and try turning the volume up on the phone.Mine goes so high and sends a warning message about hearing loss if you need to ignore that and go higher then regulate it with the Sena.

Make sure your bike's mute button is not pushed in.....? The mute on a Goldwing does not completely eliminate sound. It just lowers it by a lot. Good luck..... Jim
