I am tossing all kinds of ideas around. I am really not sure what I want… I have a 07 Electra Glide converted to Ultra sort of. The bike or body of it has 110000 miles, it has a new motor from a 14 street glide 103HO with about 25000 miles on it, new belt , swing arm bushings, bearings, new clutch, compensator. The bike has been owned and maintained by me since new. Other than a few dealer warranty items done to it. Would spending $15000 on a CSC Daytona conversion be stupid? I mean, if the bike died I can fix most of the things on it and worse case scenarios I guess I could eventually buy a newer donor bike and have CSC swap it out right?

what are your thoughts on this? Would I be able to use the same back end later on and puta front end of a 15 Ultra or Limited?

That would be a good donor for a trike, you already have an upgraded engine and you know the bikes bloodlines, I say do it :clapping:

I think if I sell my Tr Glide I would make enough to put about $10-12000 bucks down cash then put the balance on a rewards credit card or something like that… I think Mrs Notgrownup and I are going to Arrington VA this summer to talk to them on the way to WV for our summer trip.

I would not hesitate to get on my 07 and leave on a trip to Canada or California at all.

I would not do it. trade in on your 2007 with a 11000 miles maybe $5000. Its a out dated bike as far as every thing brakes, front forks, radio, 5 gallon tank verist 6 gallon , when all done triked out if you got into a accident or it get stollen you have a hard time getting $12000 - $15000 out of a insurance company. trade your tri glide for something with a M8 in it and go from there. Thats my thought :xzqxz:

I had the same dilemma 2 years ago, only with a different bike. I had a 2002 Goldwing GL 1800 that I owned since almost new. It had 110,000 miles, was very reliable, great bike and it was well loved. I ended up trading it in for a 6 year newer Goldwing Trike with 1/2 the miles of my old wing. The cost difference for me was just about even. In other words, I paid just about the same amount extra for the newer trike as I would have paid to have my old bike converted. At the time I bought the trike everything was refreshed...... new suspension, brakes, drive line and axels, tires, all fluids, etc. The dealer transferred a lot of my personalized stuff like custom seat, windshield, handlebar risers, wind wings, etc. to the "new" trike so it felt right from the beginning.

When I was doing my research and making decisions, I found that regardless of which trike kit I wanted, the end cost would have been $16,000 to $18,000 to convert my old wing to a trike. Hope this information is of some help..... Jim

I faced the same issue myself.Converting my Dyna to a trike or buying a Freewheeler. By the time I worked the numbers and my labor and final matching paint I was only about $5k off. So the FLRT came home and the Dyna is still a two wheeler. Not to say building a trike is wrong but for me spring summer fall was always a time for gathering parts for a winter build...and riding!

I will be pondering this for a good while. The problem is I have 2 beautiful bikes… oh! That’s not really a problem..lol…

I have time, my 07 is really not loosing anymore value at this point so I can evaluate my funds.
