Finally Found a Trike

Morning all, I have been a member on this board for some time, I was in the middle of having my 02 sportster triked out, however had a run of bad luck, turns out the motorcycle shop that I took it too, went under. Fortunately I was able to get my bike back however in pieces. just as a fluke I went into a ride now dealership and they had just received in a 1998 Honda Goldwing Trike, from an older gentlemen that wanted a new one. I never really thought in a million years I would find a Honda GL1500 trike for less than 15k that is in good running condition . I picked it up last night. i had to spend about an hour in the parking lot, getting used to the clutch, definitely a lot easier than on the harley. This thing is a dream, now I understand why goldwing riders praise them so much, like riding on air. I look forward to some practice time, and getting out on the road with it.

Its been a rough two years for a lot of powersports dealers and a number of them, large and small haven't been able to hang on. I read that well over 100 Harley dealerships have closed in the last two years. Owning a Harley dealership used to be like owning a bank, but not anymore. Same with the metric dealers, a lot of them have closed too. This year is definitely looking a little better though from most everyone I am talking to.

You did good on the Lehman GL1500 Trike, looks like a later model kit, running boards & matching alloy wheels..nice! Beautiful trike and a good deal too. Keep us posted on your new adventures.ThumbUp

Weather kinda turned here in Vegas, looking forward to getting it out over the weekend.

I dont know much about accessories for the wing trike, anyone know of a catalog like J and P or something simiiar for wings ? It does have the front wheel lit up which is pretty cool, but I am interested in customizing a little as my own. any ideas would be great.

Thanks everybody, hope everyone has a good one

A beautiful score!!! You are gonna LOVE it! No trip too long! The 1500 is a fantastic bike to begin with. There are a lot of little maint. items that should be kept up on, and if you do, you're gonna have a 200 thousand plus mile trike! Man that thing looks SHARP!!! If I had one piece of advise to give, it would be modulating/flashing tail lights that activate with your brakes. The more visible you are the better! Have fun!!

Wow Mpolissky the art work on your bike is amazing, really cool stuff. Hey Jim, sounds great I am really new to trikes, and bikes in general when it comes to maintenance, aside from the dealership stuff. Any information would be great. I actually only paid $10.650.00 for it, has 32,000 original miles on it. Any information on maintenance would be great I want it to last as long as possible.

Thanks everybody for your input.

Took my First short ride today, not bad at all, had to get it filled up. Handles really well, and I notice I am not as concerned about traffic as much as I was on my two wheeler, still concerned obviously but not frantic or anything. All an all enjoyable even in rush our traffic. My friend and I are headed to lake Mead this weekend should be fun to get it out on a 150 mile stretch.:pepper:
