Insurance Scams
Something I am pretty excited about ... but pi$$ed at the same time is my new insurance.
I have been with Nationwide for over 10 years, and before that Geico for over 10 years and before that Progressive.
I haven't had an incident or ticket in over 25 years either.
My semi-annual insurance premium arrived with much reluctant anticipation and I decided to contact my agent to see if we could somehow lower the rate.
I have my home, motorcycle and cars all insured with Nationwide to gain the best deal, or so I thought.
The Agent gave me the regular company line .. blah blah blah .. and told me I was getting the best rate.
Soooooo, I went shopping !
I went to Liberty to see
Limu-Emu and Doug with the same (even better) coverage on my cars and was quoted a rate less than half of my rate with Nationwide.
I went to the Nationwide agent in person and showed him the coverage and rate. He just threw his hands up in the air and said he would drop the Nationwide policy if it was simply a one year only rate. I never realized how much I was being overpriced (screwed).
Liberty $812.00 per year w/1 yr premium
Progressive $1104.00 per year w/6 mos premiums
Geico $1279.00 per year w/6 mos premiums
Nationwide $1986.00 per year w/6 mos premiums
Full coverage/comp with $500 ded. max liability 300/300/100,000
The creeping premium was my reason for changing insurance companies in the first place.
I just thought I would spread the word and the joy.
I have left AT&T, C&P and Bell Atlantic due to creeping bills as well.
