Leading Link Front End

Hello Gentlemen,

I hope I could reactivate this post by asking for more technical details on Leading Link. I have been following your debate and really interested to build a Leading Link for my electric trike meant for city cruising. Its going to be 3 meter long and shall fit 5 people having max speed of 60KMH.

I am looking answers to the following questions:

1. If there is a standard leading link design for trikes which is documented somewhere describing some golden rules. I am looking for for instance that how should the Leading Link Triangle be defined for my application. What sort of spring shall I be using?

2. Which triple trees, stems and tubes could be used?

2. Additionally I am looking for a wheel with disc brakes which could be used. At rear I am using R15?

Your help will be appreciated.

1 there is NOTHING cast in stone

the shocks depend on the weight and angle of the shock... the angle can be adjusted with different holes on the arm

2 i use the tree of the donor bike but most any tree of a big cc bike will do depending on the weight on the front wheel

3 most any wheel again depend on the weight on the front wheel.. you have to make caliper brackets either way..

you can see the adjustment in the attached pics

one thing i have found the axle should be about an inch above the pivot point..

also i usually like 1.5" - 2.5" of trail which again can be change with a couple extra holes at the pivot point
