We were in Maggie Valley last Monday.Did not see a single bike or No Vacancy sign that was on.Turned around at The Four Seasons and no vehicles at all.Guess that is what they mean by OFF SEASON.

WOW! That is REALLY shut down for the season, isn't it!

I hope to get back there again, but probably be next year.Great place to stay and great riding all around there.Heard there was a big road cave in on the Cherhaula(sure that is not spelled rite) Parkway.

I know a lot of folks like MV , but for my money I would take Helen GA over it any time. but that's JMHO

I know what you mean about Helen Ga., but I always go up to the mountains in October for the changing of the leaves and Helen during Octoberfest is like being in Daytona during bike week only more concentrated.

There is a Major Roadslide in the Smokies Park just past Newfound Gap, and another one on the Cherohala Skyway now. Both Roads are closed and Tourism, especially in the Cherokee and Maggie Valley Areas is suffering greatly. They think maybe 2 months on the Cherohala, but 441 through the Park is still listed as "Long Term Disabled"......!!!!!

thanks Skuuter but we will still venture that way in the spring for a few days.

You guys should join us in Maggie Valley this July, we'd love to see some trikes mixed in with the two-wheelers! Also, the Cherohala will hopefully be open as early as this Monday, though with a detour near the collapse...

Here's a link to our Maggie Valley Riding Weekend....

Are you telling us those two wheelers will not be upset if a trike runs away from them in the twisties LOL. BTW would like info on how to get your mag started coming my way.:Trike1:

The word out of the Smokies National Park hotline is the road to Cherokkee (hwy 441) can possibly be open as early as May- weather permitting.
