I appreciate the addition to the Forum here. I owned a VW-based trike three decades ago and liked it. I’ve been through several two-wheelers since then and even have enough parts right now to build one, possibly two, Harley Shovelheads. Still, I’m considering building another trike. It would likely be a VW-based trike again as air-cooled VWs are one addiction that I haven’t been able to kick in almost fifty years.

I currently have three complete Beetles and many, many parts in my collection so a VW-based trike only seems like a natural outgrowth of an already existing addiction. Plus, I already have a titled VW pan, a Big Twin frame which I can use for this project (with MSO), and a 10” over wide glide front end. It’s almost like I’m “supposed” to build one. Now, if I could only convince my little wife.

Welcome to Trike Talk Nathan! And yes, it sounds like you have a good start on a VW trike project with the parts you already own!
