Hi All
I’ve just joined after enjoying reading some of the sidecar posts...
This is photo of seat I designed & fabricated for my std poodle.
She loved it & rode in her bike seat almost a year ...
until she stood up & spun around in circles before sitting down again, right in the middle of a exit ramp loop de loop, not great for balance ... Definitely a moment to earnestly pray!
After that I became a researcher of all things sidecar. Read all I could find, surprising how few people (including Bike shops) knew much about sidecars ... well after a time I found a nice rig and that’s when the real learning came in... the riding was not great at 1st because whomever ‘married’ the bike to sidecar was clueless, lots of errors, oversights, and omissions ... I can’t even remember all the things I had to do to make it right, a big one was to change out the triple tree to a 7° rake, added ECC, swapped rear MC tire for car tire, lots more.. and got myself schooled on setting the trail /toe-in etc... it’s been 10 years or more now & Dog & I are still loving it.
I have a (couple) bike/s w out sidecar too cause I really love leaning and grinding my pegs in the curves. Sidecars v. 2 Wheels are two completely different rides to experience. On long rides I prefer the bike without the sidecar it’s a lot less work, although the sidecar is great for Hauling junk from Home Depot, groceries, camping stuff and of course taking the dog on rides. Anyway that should be enough of an intro to let you know I’m not a bot and HEY! I’m new here!
I Hope you liked my intro and my pictures I ride, therefore I am
