New starter motor

Just put a new starter motor on my 1600 Beetle engined trike. What I thought was a faulty motor turned out to be a dirty connection on the solenoid feed wire from the starter switch. I decided to fit a high torque motor for an automatic on, as I will be putting a 1776 motor in later this year and I wanted something with a bit of oomph. The difference between a manual and automatic motor is that the latter doesn't have a spigot protruding out it. This means that the spigot bush doesn't have to be changed. Well pleased with the result, only a slight problem was encountered with the wiring connections being in a different position. A bit awkward getting the wires in place but apart from that straight swap.

That's right. The automatic style starter eliminates the need for the nose bushing.

I've tried to always use that style of starter if possible. Better torque and no nose bushing. :p
