New to Trike, still being converted.

I'm in the middle of having my '12 Road Glide converted with a Motor Trike kit.A friend of ours recommended this web site to look and learn. My greatest fear is not being strong enough to muscle it, as well as the normal getting used to it stuff. I am a retired municipal Wastewater Plant Administrative Assistant. I've been riding for over 40 years, so it'll be quite an adjustment for me. Any advice is appreciated.

Thx, Denise

Well, I have had a few months to get used to conversion. Not nearly as hard as I had anticipated, just had to get out of my head and just ride. I do need to bold up upper body strength (something to do over winter), but not too bad for an old fat girl. Living in KY there is plenty of awesome riding available, I just rode it. I appreciate all the advice.

Welcome to Trike Talk.

To help turn your trike, try using your core muscles for the power by rotating at your waist, to push with a locked elbow and pull with a bent elbow. If you feel like you are going off the road, Push Harder!! Practice sitting in a kitchen chair across from a stronger person resisting with just his arms. Use rotation to push against his arms. (Careful! Don't hurt him:D) I used to coach kayak paddlers. Ladies could actually push a big guy off his chair using this technique.

Good luck!

Wow ... Sweet Ride, I've always thought the "Shark Nose" faring made a sweet looking trike, your's is no exception. Love the color.

Oh yea ... better start practicing keeping your feet up ... :D

Denise,

Congrats on your new trike! Do you know of your installer added a rake kit when you bike was converted?

That makes a huge difference in ease of steering if it was added.
