Not sure what to do on seats

I have just never understood the criticism of the stock Gold wing seat. Of all the bikes I have owned or ridden, I always thought the Gold wing seat, regardless of the model year, was the most comfortable in production at that time. Over my years of writing two wheels I owned seven Harley Ultras. If you want an uncomfortable seat compared to the Gold wing it's the stock Harley seat on the Ultra. I added up switching the seats out on all seven of mine. The Mustang actually work best for me.

The stock Gold wing seat is made for the long trip rider. Of the criticism that I heard over the years from Gold wing riders, most of the complaints dealt with the fact that the seat was two cushey and needed to be cut down. Several guys I knew modified the seat by removing the cover and trimming down the foam underneath.

I realize that as we get older our bodies are more sensitive to riding to what they used to be. My only suggestion is it may be worthwhile to modify the seat before spending big bucks for another one.

Just a thought.

When I sent my seat to Tom ( I was and still am a newbie to bikes) Tom called me as soon as he had received it and asked my why I or someone had trimmed from the bottom, being the newbie I had not even noticed it but he did so apparently someone had already tried that method. For me, the seat was uncomfortable and I had him redo it as I did not trust getting a mass produced seat, just my thang I guess but I am sure glad I did it. I have thoroughly enjoyed his seat and am very pleased with it. To each their own like everything else I reckon.

I'm happy and so is me butt lol
