Parking Brake for Hannigan

Has anyone installed a parking brake on their Hannigan kit? If so, would you be able to supply the information for one of our clubs members.

</div>Which Hannigan trike kit/bike chassis are you speaking of? Many folks pack a small wooden or aluminum wedge chock for instances where help of this sort is needed. That's what I did when I had a Hannigan/K LT trike without a parking brake. My current Roadsmith/GL1800 trike does have a parking brake but I would not opt for it if buying new. It isn't worth the price to me.

He requires a mechanical parking brake. Both wheels must be locked using a parking brake mechanism.

Hi Wolf, To comply in NZ both rear wheels must be braked also. We use automotive rear calipers & discs which are ready set for cable activated park brakes & hydraulic main brakes.Then it is just a matter of finding a suitable place to mount the hand lever , which I might add is easier said than done.
