Please be advised that the Deadwood 3-Wheeler Rally, now in its 9th year, is accepting registrations.

Go to its website :www.d3wr.com

The schedule of activities is currently under development, but last years is shown which will give you an idea of what you may expect this year. Should you have any questions, feel free to reply through this forum. We're hoping to have 1000 registrants this year, so please spread to word amongst your triker friends. Let your 2-wheel friends know that they are welcomed too, as are your ATV friends. Attached is last year's registrants map, showing how many registered, from what states and how many/what type of 3-wheel units attended. Hope to see YOU at the rally!

We are keeping our fingers crossed that my back will hold up so that we can make it to this years 3-wheel rally. Had back surgery in May and just never recovered. Got our rally registration done and booked motel. Will probably come in with Kelly & Vicki from Gordon, Neb. Look forward to seeing everybody again!

We’ve never been to this rally but Sturgis several times. The scaled down version is more to my liking. We really enjoy the Black Hills riding especially when the weather cooperates.

Paul - do you know when the events schedule will be available for this year and will you be posting a list of attending vendors?

They have posted a tentative schedule . https://www.d3wr.com/rally-schedule

It looks good and a lot of bang for the buck. We are going to check it out this year.

Hey Steve, I see that you found our rally's website, which is where you can pre-register on-line, also see what's scheduled and when, plus lodging accommodations. I'll be hosting a ride event during the rally on July 11th, titled "AUTO-CYCLER'S NEEDLES - WILDLIFE LOOP RUN", now my 7th year in doing so. Details of the event are given on my FB site: South Dakota Vanderhall Owners. Attached to this post is our current registrant's map.

Hi Paul,

I’ve been communicating with Michele. She was interested in ideas for rally events. I tried to help but it looks like the wet T-shirt idea didn’t make the cut.

My ride has handlebars so I won’t be joining you. We are looking forward to riding the Black Hills again.

Cheers!

Once again, our Victory CCT-CSC trike is in the miscellaneous category! I think we need a miscellaneous ride! A fun rally with great people!

Hi Steve,

I'm disappointed that Michele didn't accept your idea (wet t-shirt contest) as a viable event for the rally. But then again, based on the median age of most female registrants, maybe she was right to have nixed the idea, lol! Sorry that you were not eligible to join my ride event, based on your 3 - wheeler ride of choice. Hope to run into you during some time or part of the rally to say hello. Until then, take care and ride safe!

Hey Gale & Lorrie,

Look'n pretty sharp and in good spirits! I don't care what anyone says about you not making out of the miscellaneous class. You and Lorrie are, in my book, a class above all others. You still will have the only Victory trike in the rally and a sharp one at that. Looking forward to seeing you both again... Take care and Ride Safe!

Hi Paul,

i suggested to Michele adding the rally to the American Rider events list. Thus is the old Thunder Press magazine. Posting an event is free and it might help get the word out.

She hasn’t had time so far apparently. Here’s a link if you want to have a look. https://americanrider.com/events/month/2023-07/

i found out here that there is a rally in Red Lodge after the 3 wheel rally. We are going to check them both out.

Paul - she said she would keep it as an option. I’m not age prejudiced.

Hi Steve,

Yes, Michele is quite busy, as she holds down a couple jobs in addition to being her first year as the rally's coordinator. She surely will become busier as we get closer to rally time. I took it upon myself to place our ad to the magazine you referred to. Trikes are motorcycles too!

I haven't attended the Red Lodge Rally you referred to, put I've ridden the beautiful and scenic Beartooth Hwy. Someday, I'd like to ride the Hwy To The Sky, Glacier Nat'l. Park. Take care...

Paul,

I don’t see the 3 wheeler rally in the events calendar. Maybe it takes some time to show up?

Yes we rode in Glacier National Park in 2020. The east gate was closed but could get through most of it. Definitely something for your bucket list.

Paul,

American Rider apparently is not going to list the rally in their event section. Perhaps it’s because it’s 3-wheelers instead of ‘motos’. Thanks for trying.

I was hoping to gain more visibility for this event beyond the Can Am world. At this point Can Am registered trikes outnumber Harleys by almost 5:1. That’s sad considering what brands of trikes I see on the road.

Gee Gale & Lorrie, I wonder who those LOVE BIRDS are that attended the rally? Love Birds.jpg pmar6004
