Limited Slip

At the risk of looking like an idiot, I have installed a new drive belt in a 2005 sporty 1200C Lehman Trike conversion. now i notice both axles are free and drive pulley on axle is free all able to turn without any resistance. Is this NORMAL . Is this the limited slip differential characteristics. I can not complete repairs till i know it is safe .

Where would I find a data / VIN plate that would help me identify the model and age?

Normally there is either a plate or sticker affixed to the swingarm or a series of numbers and letters stamped on the axle, maybe both places. Either way you will have to crawl under the trike.
