State fair of Texas

Just wrapped up a wonderful day here in big D! The weather couldn't have been any better, just beautiful! And even had a couple of friends join us for the day (they live just outside of Fort Worth) As we are heading back home the temperature are starting to drop, and we're expecting the high 40's tomorrow morning.... couldn't have asked for a better day at the fair :clapping:
This weekend is it until next year, so there's still time to get your fill of deep fried Jello, Twinkies, cookie fries and one must not forget those delicious Fletcher's corndogs! ThumbUp

Haven't been to the state fair since 1958 or '59, but Big Tex looks pretty-much the way I remembered him as a kidwhen we went. We lived in Irving at the time - countryside still separated Fort Worth, Irving, and Dallas then.

Thats so funny you've mentioned that, we were talking about how it used to be just open space and that you knew getting close from the city lights...kinda miss all the greenery as we're sitting in stand still traffic trying to get back to our friends house near Mansfield :cxtv:
