What's a "Nor'easter"?

Sorry to hear that you guys in the Northeast are battling with all that snow. Can't imagine feet of the stuff. I love to see a few inches when we get it every few years but feet of it, no thanks. Sunshine and 70 here yesterday, just feeling your pain.

We have some extra snow on the way. I will be more than happy to box it up and ship it down south. A Nor'easter is just a storm travelling in a North East direction, at a strong intensity.

Nor'easter is a strong storm in the Northeast with wind often coming from northeast. Storm comes from sea and spirals back over land.

It's just a storm that runs up the coast North and East ..
Some day some weather person will come up with a cute name for them.
So far Polar Vortex and Super storm among others are taken....:D

Its like Leo says, a storm that the center is off the cape cod area, and the winds whip counter clock-wise from the northeast over new England. Some reason the snow is heavier when this occurs.
