July 9, 2014 (Jacksboro, TN) - Bushtec is taking Fido on the road in style. The trailer made specifically to haul canines, the TowTow, will now add a Bimini Top to its list of options. The Bow Wow Bimini Top is available now.

The TowTow motorcycle trailer was designed specifically to accommodate a canine companion. The trailer is fashioned from the Turbo +2 model with modifications to allow a dog to sit comfortably while being pulled behind a motorcycle. The original TowTow features a padded open-lid design, a windshield, shocks to alleviate excessive bounce, and carpeted interior. The TowTow Deluxe includes a hinged door for the dog to easily enter and exit the trailer. A lid cover to enclose the trailer for non-pet use is also an option.

The Bow Wow Bimini Top was introduced to provide shade and increase the pet's comfort during their ride. "Until now, we didn't offer a roof for the TowTow," commented Keith Simpson, Bushtec General Manager. "Clients rave about the trailer, but always ask if there is a roof option. In response, our engineers designed a roof that allows air flow, while providing the shade a dog needs. The Bimini Top is the perfect design."

The Bow Wow Bimini is based upon the open-front canvas convertible top used on boats. It is supported by a metal frame that is bolted onto the trailer with stainless steel fittings. The waterproof and UV-treated canvas top is removable, however the collapsible frame is permanent once installed on the trailer. Late model TowTow trailers will require a new windshield to accommodate the Bow Wow Bimini due to the snap attachments.

Gary Sipes, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, views this as one of many steps Bushtec takes to please the customer. "Motorcycle riders love their pets. We are thrilled to introduce the Bow Wow Bimini for our riders and companions to enjoy the road together. It's just another example of how Bushtec listens to our customers and works to please them. We are designing new products every day to accommodate requests."

Bushtec also anticipates increasing their product line through acquisition opportunities. "We are always looking to add quality products to our offering. Bunkhouse was acquired in 2012 and we're celebrating its 30[SUP]th[/SUP] anniversary. Trigg Trike Kits was acquired in January and we've made great strides in product design, brand recognition and manufacturing in a short time. We strengthen our portfolio by acquiring quality brands that we can make better. Acquiring smaller, founder-driven companies offers mutual benefits for seller, buyer and customer," Sipes explained.

Orders for the Bow Wow Bimini can be placed through Bushtec Customer Service, at 888-321-2516, with order fulfillment expected for late July 2014. All inquiries regarding Bushtec trailers and hitches, Bunkhouse campers or Trigg Trike Kits should be directed to Keith Simpson, Bushtec General Manager: kds@bushtec.com or 888.321.2516.

i spoke with Al at Bushtec Trailers and I asked if the Bimini Top is collapsible. Al stated the "Roll Bar" stainless steel which holds the Bow Wow Bimini Top in place is not collapsible. He advised the Bimini Top is removed by unzipping the top from the "Roll Bar" and unsnapping it from the windshield. The stainless steel is permanent in place and will not lower down like the Bimini Tops for boats.
