hi all

i have a xj900 diversion which i am looking to make into a trike .

i have the old trike swing arm & axle assembly off my old xj650 trike but was wondering if to keep it as a mono shock like on the xj900 or try & find a way to attach the dual shock .

anybody have any ideas which is best .

thank you all

I can't help you on your built, But i'm sure someone will chime in soon with the info you need...

In the mean time welcome to Trike-Talk ...:wave4:

Hi Darren welcome aboard. I am not greatly familiar with the setup you are talking about, but I would think on a trike rear suspension the 2 shocks would do a better job them one. Good luck with the build. post pictures

Thank you Gorilla

think you could be riight dual shocks might be best if can find away to attach them on my 1995 900 diversion

Welcome to the Gang from Western Colorado.

I'm no pro, but It makes sense with the third wheel a third shock would give you a more stable ride. Probably more comfortable too.

here is some pictures of the trike backend i made for the xj650 trike (duo shock setup)

Since I put a Champion kit on my Road Star 1700 myself, I might help enough to get you thinking. My solo shock is ahead of the swing arm. They kept it and added 2 coil over shocks between the axles and the upper frame which is a extension of the rear fender and seat frame. Check the instructions on their site to see what I mean. http://championsidecars.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/road_star_trike_guide.pdf

(the blue part is what the shocks attach to)

Good luck

ive been told that with me usuing a reliant axle that 17" wheels would be best for gearing purpose

i am hoping to get a day on trying to make a frame for the dual shocks to fit (UK weather isnt best)

i appreciate all the feed back from you all as its helped me alot

below is picture of my swingarm on yamaha xj900 diversion & blown up picture of rear suspension on bike (with mono shock) that was on bike
