The last two bikes the sidecar I have has been on it was not a big deal. The cost I had in the sidecar were not that high and I was willing to take the risk so I did not add coverage of the sidecar. Also my bikes already have $3,000 in accessory coverage.

The new one that will go on the RGU is a different story. By time every thing is done as I want it the bill will be about $14,000. What has been your experience with the insurance end of it. The sidecar is treated as an accessory.

Most insurance companies will cover it as an accessory. You may have to document it.

With 3 bikes the insurance adds up. Most likely I will not insure full value and spit the risk. What I have found over the years with Motorcycles is that each company can differ a lot depending on the bike and modification.
