I am considering a Stallion trike to replace the Yamaha trike I totaled last week. My wife and I did a short test ride on a Stallion a year ago but she felt cramped in the passenger area, especially the tumy area. Has anyone made changes to the seats to gain more comfort or room to these machines?

Good to see u back Larry and good to be home I'm sure. My wife said the same thing about her tummy on the Venture. I told her to "loose the tummy" she slapped the poop out of me. Stallions are real nice. Good luck and hope your healings are fast and well.

There is a little bit of ajustment in the backrest where you can turn the knob right or left. I know on mine you can ajust the backrest back and forth and that will give the passenger a little extra room. Hope this helps!

Yep and that could very well be a deal breaker for me. I really like everything about the Stallion except for lack of seating room/adjustment for my wife. I need either the passenger seat or the driver seat to be adjustable or just plsin more seating room. If I knew she'd be happy sitting back there without having a feeling of being in a press I'd put my name in the hat for the current orders being taken. Till then I'll have to wait till we can either sit in one or take one for a test ride. We did sit in one about 4 years ago when MT first brought them to market.

Larry the seating setup has not changed from the original 4 years ago. Minor changes in the seat material is all. So you should have a fair base from your experience 4 years ago.

Talking with my wife about the passenger seat, she thinks it's about the same as the Goldwing we had before. She does talk about the ajustment knob sticking out that takes up some room.

I have a place here in Denver called, and no joke, "Bitchin Stichin!" That can make you any type a seat for any bike/trike out there. Do a Google search on the name. They have an excellent reputation out west here.!
Does anyone have some up to date ideas about what they have done to make their seats comfortable? I am 6'1" and 240. The seat just does not allow me to be comfy for more than hour. I have tried different seat pads, gel pad, sheep skin thing and an air hawk. It must be because my knees are bent up and all my weight is on my tailbone or other butt bones. There are other pads i can try but dont want to start a collection so am asking for advice. I am not opposed to taking the seat in to a shop but would like some input first... Anyone have suggestions, please?

I took mine to local upholstery shop. He built up fron seat and added more padding. Also cut down bottom half of passender seat back that allows co-rider to sit in more comfortable upright position and gave little more tummy room. Several of my firends did the same with their Goldwing seat back.

Thanks! Its njklos@gmail.com. If anyone else has pic of their seat modification I would love to see it and appreciate. I made my mind up today that if I cant get comfy on the seat that it will be for sale. 2013 model with 600 miles. It's no fun riding in discomfort.

I had my seat built up by one of those vendors that does Gold Wing seats.
It may help on the Gold Wing, but was of little improvement if any on the Stallion and at a cost of almost $400. Then there were some posts from other Stallion owners who had gone to WalMart and bought the jell pad which is placed on top of the seat and they only cost around $20. That was a big improvement. I am on my second one. The trick is to purchase 2 of them and stuff 2 jell inserts into one cover. The covers last about a year or so if you do much riding. Best money I have spent on comfort. My 2 cents worth.

walmart? really? what department? I never thought of looking at walmart. I appreciate all the input I can get because I don't want to throw any more money into the wind than necessary to get my seat to fit me better. I did order a gel pad from some place online but it has a money back guarantee so I figured I dont have much to lose in trying that one.

in reference to nklosterman, iam 6'1" 240--and have a difficult time sitting in a 4 wheeler, computer chair, living room chair or my stallion for more than 1 hr.this problem started years & gradually got worse-due to the hip joints deterorating. an air hawk has been the best improvement. i have purchased CLOSED cell foam of firm to very firm density-used it on computer chair, truck, suv & can sit longer without sore butt. put a 4x8x1 sheet on the soft bed & the soreness from laying is all but gone.` when the rain clears will try on stallion seat. make sure it is closed cell NOT open cell, memory foam, chip foam etc. hope this helps (the best thing is dont get old he!he!)

Thanks for the suggestions and please keep them coming. I ordered another pad to try and it has a money back guarantee. I also stopped at an upholstery shop that appeared to do alot woth seats and they said they work on modifying motorcycle seats often. They were surprised at how little foam there is in the seat and suggest I let them add some and use firmer foam. That will be next option once if the new pad doesnt work out. I ran into mechanical problems with stallion today after only 800 miles on a 2013. How this gets handled by TMS and my dealer will determine if I even going to keep her. I am getting fed up with the whole darn thing....

I have the same pad as trikervet was talking about. I put two pads a then another foam pad in mine and it makes a big difference. I had the same problem with my Goldwing and then when I got the Stallion I though I wouldn't have to problem but I did. I can make it up to 180 - 200 miles now before I need a stop. I think I got the pads in the boat / sporting section in Walmart. Don't give up on the Stallion, I know there are some thing with the Stallion that seems like the factory could make better but these a not mass produced like alot of the other bikes are and the problems are not reported after the warranty is out.
