After looking at the 2014 seats I like the redesign. Can this be adapted to a 2013 model or what needs to be done to make it work? The new backrests are nicer as well. Any input is appreciated. Thanks

Great questions!

If it would work, I would be interested in switching out both also.

Unfortunately, I do not believe it will. The Tour-Pak is wider on the 14's, so I don't believe the backrest will fit a pre-14 TP.

Same with the seat, it is wider on the 14's and I don't think it will fit between the rear speakers.

I hope someone else chimes in and lets us know they will fit...would love to make that change...we spend a lot of "seat time" on our TG.

This led's me to believe that pre-14 Tg seats could fit on the 2014's??? They might not look right with extra space around them.
The reason I have questions on this is both myself & my GF have heated seats on our 2010 & 2012 Tg's & will someday probably be trading in on the 2014's or newer & would like to use them.
If anyone already knows the answer to this I'd appreciate knowing.

I put my Road Zepplin seat on the 2014 and fits great. I had it originally on my 2010 Limited and then my 2012 TriGlide. The RZ is a little bigger then the stock seat so the stock seat "may" look smaller between the speakers. Don't know if that's a bad thing or not. ThumbUp

I doubt very much that the backrest will fit ....correctly.

It stands to reason then the 2014 seat will fit on a 2013 as the RZ will work. The 2014 seats are wider and appear to not sit you back as far as the upgrade 2013 and older seats do. The 14 seat upgrades are similar in appearance as the 2013 stock seat. Looking for something that will not put me back and give the passenger more room. Looked at a 2013 cvo seat and the rider is further back in the seat and the passenger area is smaller because of it. Looks like a good 2 inches.

Can anyone show us the "Measurements of the Front & Back Section of the 2014 Seat??"My 2010 Triglide Seat is: 17"x14":Coffee:

Well that's good because I at least know the front tongue & back bolt hole bracket will line up on a pre-14 seat if used on a 2014.

I was concerned if my RZ seat would fit the '14 because I made the mistake with my first RZ seat by not keeping it and reselling it to help pay for the new one for the 2010 Limited.
My parts guy said the RZ seat might not fit (he wasn't sure)the '14 and there would be a lot of space around it if it did fit. Well It fits fine and I actually have just a little less space between the seat and the tour pac then on the '12 TG.

According to HD website in the RZ seat it does say it will fit the 14 tri glide. Only shows the tri glide though. This again makes me wonder what the particulars are about this seat that is so different from the others. If it is only the 1/2 difference vs. the 15in width on the other 14's that usually will work as the foam is pliable and would squeeze together enough to work.

The P&A catalog wasn't out yet when the parts guy told me he didn't think it would fit.

When I bought my 2010 Limited the P&A catalog said the tour pac light guard wouldn't fit the Limited. Guess what - it fit fine.
I really don't trust what the P&A catalog says - or even what some of the parts guys say. :D

Went by the HD dealer yesterday while running errands and spoke with the one parts professional(he earned that title for sure) that is the most knowledgeable I have come across and he said the 14 seat(Hammock) would fit my trike. Even took the seat over to a stock seat on a triglide and it looked like a direct replacement other than removing the grab bar. I am taking the trike in on Tuesday to do a swap to double check and if all goes as planned my butt will be much happier! The 14 seat has the seat position I am wanting as the others do not.

Well I couldn't wait so I went back to the dealer today. The 14 hammock fits my 13 tri glide. I am one happy biker. What a difference between the stock and the hammock. The hammock sits almost identical to the 13 OEM seat but the quality difference is night and day. Much more comfortable. The OEM felt like I was sitting on a board and bottomed out on every bump in the road. I topped it off with a CVO lumbar backrest on the tour pack and also had to change out the filler pad on the tour pack as the CVO pad has extra support for the bottom area of the backrest.

Does anyone know if the acc. plug under the seat need to be changed to use a pre-2014 heated seat (sun ray or hammock)on a new 2014 bike? The p&a catalog mentions an adapter harness is needed. Is that what it's referring to?

From what I was told today as I had to order the adapter harness is the 14 plug is shorter than the others(13 and back) thus you need an extension to plug up. I ordered the adapter harness but I will see what is meant by it in a week or so when it comes in.

more specifically the part is called an electrical harness extension part# 69200722

Thanks, please let me know after you've had a chance to see it.

Well, I installed my new 14 hammock heated seat today along with the lumbar passenger back rest('12 CVO style) and new lower pad of the backrest as that one is for that backrest and has an extra support area built into it.. I did install the paint guard kit first and you do not need the electrical harness as the 14's changed the female plug on the bike which is why you need the new adapter harness. The 13's remained the same and the 14 seat uses the old style(13 and back) male plug.
