I have a vw trike that is coming together nicely but I need a front end to finish it off I have tried in town but everyone says they will do it but it's been 3 months and no front end

I am at work right now, but I have a website that I found in a google search for such a front end. When I get home I will look it up. It gives you the plans to make one yourself. In the mean time you can do a search for an "Earles Type Front end" That is their official name. there are a couple of companies in England that make them to order and one can be had with a wheel that will accept a car tire. They are expensive and then there is the shipping but it is a thought. Good Luck

I plan on making my own front end for my vw trike. My progress is very slow but whatever I learn I will pass on to you.

Sounds like you are making progress. Good luck and keep us posted. RIDE SAFE

I'm planning to use a variation of Robert Q. Riley's Trimuter design - it's a lot simpler than an Earl's and the top of it can be a lot lower.

Here's a pic:

I'll be using a round tube for the crosspiece right under the neck because it's easier to drill at an angle in round. For a spindle/brake, I'm going to try a Super Beetle - same wheel bolt pattern as my rear wheels so all three can match (from the driver's side at least).

If anyone's built one, or has the plans, I'd like to ask some questions.

I think you will enjoy the process,, I have been working on mine for while the only thing I am not to happy with are the shocks- at this time i have a set of hd ultra rear air shocks mounted on mine and at the angle they are mounted I think the spring rate of 1 shock would be to much- guess i'll wait and see- don't want harsh ride !! ,,,
