Dreaded CSC Driveshaft Failure

Always enjoy reading your comments Greg, I figure you know what your talking about having been there done that many times. Was talking to rider friend recently, said you do what the customer asks with detailed perfection, nothing more nothing less. Now that's a serious recommendation for sure.

I now have a new trike thanks to Greg for rebuilding my front suspension and tweaking my cruse control lag time. Also to the fine folks at CSC who installed the drive shaft retrofit kit. The ride is so much better it's like having a new trike, I even think the tranny shifts smother. Now to find a better seat, the Eutopia back rest just doesn't do the job.

Ditto on the retro kit. Just got mine back from dealer yesterday. Much better, less gear whine. Leave it in neutral & I believe a slight wind would move it. They also replaced steering head bearings with All Balls bearings. With both repairs it's a different ride.

I know this is an old thread. I read it looking for information about symptoms to watch for with a failing drive shaft. I bought a 2008 Goldwing with CSC trike kit a few months ago. I was aware of the drive shaft issue before buying it. The bike still has the transfer gear and the drive shaft has the welded fix. I am not experiencing any unusual issues. The bike shifts smoothly and I am not feeling any vibration. I do plan to have the driveshaft upgraded to the new CSC drive at some time in the future. What things should I expect to experience suggesting that my current setup is failing? Hopefully, there are some warning signs.....?

Any input is appreciated. Thanks..... Jim
