Have a 2011 TriGlide with a Pingle Shifter installed (left leg AKA) but have had nothing but problems with the bike. 1,000 miles now, but the bike continues to stall out when going down the road. Don't know if it's the shifter or the installation on the trike. Anyone else out there with this type of shifter on the TriGlide?

I have a Klicktronic on my trike and a Pingle on my Buell. Also left leg AKA. Both of these shifters can be fitted with an ignition interupt for clutchless shifting. I had this(the interupt) on my Buell but it didn't work well enough to keep. If you don't have that option then I can't see either shifter causing this. By stalling out do you mean it dies completly? These things are pretty straightforward when it comes to wiring them in, the main box hooks directly to the battery and the only other connection is a tap in to a switched (a wire that is hot only when the ignition switch is on) wire. Usually this is a done on a lighting circuit. Maybe if they hooked this in to a different source the computer doesn't like it?? I don't know why this wouldn't effect it immediately but all of this computer stuff is a language I don't understand very well! Hope this helps more than it confuses.

Dwight - Thanks for the info. When it stalls, the engine cuts off and the other power stays on. We have to make it to the side of the road to turn the power off, turn it back on (the bike won't restart unless you switch off the power) and let the Pingle run through its 5-7 second recycle to power it back on. Had the Pingle on for almost 3 months now; we have replaced the kill module because it kept stalling while on the freeway and while stopped at traffic lights (while we were waiting for a new kill module, the bike worked fine without it and manual clutching). Then, it started blowing the fuse for the module and they ultimately replaced the entire module. Now, we're back to the original problem. The dealership has only installed four of these units on bikes. Your info will help question them about how they did the wiring. Unfortunately Pingle's 30-day warranty on a $900+ part is rediculous.

I have teh Pingle on my 2011 TriGlide. We had a problem where the control Module failed. Pingle replaced it and now life is much easier. I can't use my left foot to shift, so this was a Godsend. Sorry to hear you're having problems!

Pingel sent us a replacement kill switch. The unit worked fine with the clutch when it had no kill switch. Then when the replacement kill switch was put on the power unit started blowing fuses.

They replaced the unit and after it was put in, we have the engine dying issue AGAIN! Yes, it is very frustrating! I have hand/grip (strength and nerve) issues too, after my accident. The lever is hard for me to use continually, that is why we got the Pingel. Supposed to minimalize the clutch lever usage.

I wish Pingel would send a tech to my HD dealer and make sure everything was installed correctly and take care of the issues. There are alot of these things working for others and it makes it even worse when yours doesn't work. ARRGH!!

We had the Pingel unit on a Moto Guzzi bike, which is similar to the gear shifting of Harley. Many mechanical and electrical problems did't enjoy us. After nearly two wasted years we switched to Kliktronic. Since then no problems at all. ( 18000 miles) Gear shifting seems even to be more softer.
There is a one year warranty on the Kliktronic Electric Shifter.

I think Pingel is a poor copy of Kliktronic.
